Default Waxing around stripes

Does anyone have any aftermarket stripes on their car that they have waxed over or around? I was concerned that the white paste may get between where the stripe starts and the actual hood the way it gets around your emblems sometimes. I am worried about that and the effects on the stripe.

What wax are you using? I haven't used anything that I would worry about that sort of build up.

You will want to keep wax on your stripes to prevent fading.

Just dont put the wax on so heavy then you wont have wax build-up around your emblems and stripes.

You have two options. 1st use a wax that doesn't leave a white film like Klasse All in one and Sealant glaze, P21S/S100, Zaino.
Or use what ever wax you want but use a detail spray on the stripes to remove the white residue. The QD will NOT remove the wax, just the white extra wax. If that makes sense.
Klasse AIO +SG
Sonus QD spray for Carnuaba based wax
Sonus QD for use with Sealants like Klasse

yes i have put wax over my stripes. Just be sure to use a good quality wax and don't put alot of pressure at the side of the stripe to avoid a buildup. Just rub lightly and in circles, also if your stripes are in good condition you have nothing to worrie about. Also don't use a buffer! do it by hand

I would recommend rubbing in a "linear motion" go with the stripes. That way you aren't pushing the wax down into the edge of the tape.

A wax that doesn't leave the residue that is cheaper and more available (just in case you aren't a Zaino / show car finish guy) is Meguirer's NXT wax. It's available at any auto parts store in a green / iredescent blue box. I use it on all of our daily drivers and it leaves no white residue even on our black car in the trim.

Keep an old toothbrush handy like I do. Run it up and down the edges of your stripes after the wax has dried. That should take care of any white residue. It also works great around emblems, and any tight space where your rag (or hand) won't fit.

Micro fiber towels will get it all off. If the wax you are using is good.

Default Waxing B4 Or After New Stripes?

Is it better to wax your car before you apply new stripes or after you've applied them?
