Default Menzerna IP and FP....questions.

My ride is an 02's that has really good paint. It has been well taken care of, but has a few fine swirls and scratches that can only be seen under a flouresent light. Is the Menzerna IP needed on a car with quality paint? Is there something less aggressive that will suite my needs of removing these flaws. Getting ready to order the PC, the Menzerna, Sonus MC towels, and two of each LC pads. Just wanted to make sure the Menzerna Intense polish wasn't too agressive for my car. Thanks for the input fellas!

John

Despite it's name, it isn't as aggressive as you might think. One thing to remember is your pad selection has a great deal to do with the cutting power of your polishes. If you don't think the FP will take care of it, you can try the IP with a polishing pad instead of a cutting pad.

FP has VERY little cut to it. It just brings the paint to a high gloss. IP is a must have in my opinion. FWIW, I don't care for the yellow cutting pads. They almost always leave a haze, and that's a pain.

Gotcha.... You suggest the orange pad for IP and white pad for FP.

The orange power pads I used with the IP didn't seem to work too well. I think I should have used somethign with a little more cut however. It took several hours just for hte front fender.

ZaneO what pads do you use for IP and FP and Sealant/wax? What style of edge? Also what would you use if you needed more cut than IP? And what pad there?

I typically use the orange LC VC pad with the IP and the white pad with the FP.

More cut polish wise, I would look to 1Z Ultra with white or orange pad.

Don't be afraid to crank it up to 6 and use moderate pressure.

Thanks buddy! I'll try the orange LC pad and the white LC pad for the FP. Don't know about the moderate pressure! I'll just have to get used to the way it feels. Haven't really used a PC before. I'll take it nice and easy the first round with the IP and orange LC pad.

A PC is 99% safe and fool proof. You would have to drop it on the car to mess something up.

Work the polish front, back, left, right, and diagonally both directions.

If you need something more agressive than Menzerna wont "cut it".(Pun intended)
1Z Polishes are better at removing swrils. I know. My Wife bought a Black 04 Durango that had dealer installed swirls
I polished with Sonus Orange pad and IP. It didnt take them out!
I went back ad repolished with Their Paint polish and removed the swirls the first time!
Anybody want my "menzerna twins"
1Z paint Polish
I followed up with Metallic polish. The shine and finish was perfect!

In my use yes. If that's not enough cutting power they also make Ultra Paint Polish.
It removes 800 grit sanding marks. BUT it is very aggressive. So I would try the Paint polish first, then if needed step up to the Ultra Paint Polish.
You could use the Ultra paint polish with the green pad for less aggressive polishing.
Or step down to the green pad. If that doesn't do it use the orange pad. The orange pad and Ultra Paint Polish is the most aggressive approach I would safely recommend.

I think the IP w/ Edge greed works well for the spider webs and doesnt leave much hazing that FPII cant remove. I use the FPII w/ a edge blue pad or a LC white pad.
