Jeanie,

I like the where the first one is going. Looks like a shorter cowl version of the Mike Moran 5".

I think I would sell my friends and family for that Sunoco Camaro. But yeah, I'd definitely be interested in something like in the pic nineball posted. Also, the gmmg dick harrell supercar has this same look, and a similar hood. I wonder who makes the hood for gmmg, or do they make it themselves? I've got some pics of the supercar at the berger show this fall but no great shots of the hood in particular. Also, if you were make the hood and it's popular, you guys should give that body kit a shot too!

GMMG won't sell those hoods. Everyone has asked. They are the same shape as the Sunoco car's hood.

There isn't a cowl hood for a camaro out there that looks better than the Sunoco hood. IMO If someone would make one they would sell like hot cake's.

I disagree. That line was only put there to mimic the '69 cowl hood. The nose doesn't have a raised line, it just has a crease in it. Also, the most popular Camaro hood is the SS hood, and it doesn't have a line or crease in it either.

Hi guys...
I agree that the sunaco hood looks great also.....what we were trying to do is instead of copying an exact replica of this hood is to make something that is extremely similar -which is what we came up with on the first set of pics.....I know that the pics are hard to tell what the hood may look like - since it is an unfinished project at this time....I think that psj had a great idea of putting a clinic together to come by the shop and checking it out/giving more input....
I'll check with our production guy on the possibility of making the sunaco hood - but in all honesty, the finished product may be a little different then the one pictured on the blue camaro....we also need to make sure there we can make them and that they are not copyrighted, etc...
Thanks for all the suggestions too - we really appreciate them!!
Jeanie

Not sure what you are referring to.

The 302 Concept Car was late model and had the SS Hood
The ZL1 Concept car had a 572 motor and the oversized SS Hood

BTW. The Sunoco Hood rules! I really like it without the spine too. Shouldn't be a copyright problem w/o the spine.

I think the basic design is good, but it's a wee bit too wide and a wee bit too tall. It reminds me a lot of how gay similar hoods look on sn95 cars.

Jeanie, honestly, I dont think the hood that ya'll are working on looks anything like the sunoco hood. Its more of a smaller version of the Mike Moran hood and the Harwood 3" cowl hood. If you can make a hood almost identicle to the Sunoco hood, you can bet that Im going to buy it! I know this may be a bit soon, but when do you think you could start making them and when could you have a finished product? I was almost about to buy a 4" cowl hood from ya'll until I stumbled across the Sunoco hood. If you get the confirmation that you will start making them, then I would be willing to wait. Im sure you couldnt copy the hood, but if you can get it as close as possible, that would be awesome. Thanks.

I like the Moran hood just that its a little to big .. I think a sunoco hood or really close to it with out that center spine would be the way to go .. I would for sure buy one

Jeanie, if you wanted to slightly change the Sunoco hood, just make it a tad bit wider on the backside, and get rid of the spine. These late model cars do not need the '60s style hood spine on them, they need clean smooth rounded lines to match the body

I have been waiting 3 years for a replica of the Sunoco car hood. Someone will make it eventually, and they will have my money.
