That really sucks. Having a car stolen is hard enough, but when it's a car that you obviously cared about, the pain is harsh. Keep your chin up. At least you're OK.

Dude, that's horrible! I agree with Steve. Go after him for everything he has. If he has the ***** to steal your car, lets see if he has the ***** to stand up in court as he has his a@@ handed to him! Sorry about your loss and hopefully you get another ride that is as good as that one was. Good luck man!!!

Thanks for the condolences all. This jerk is a 3rd strike drug addict gang banger. And our local authorities say they are going to go after him hard.

Z95m6- I too live in a small town. This was a transient who's car broke down close to here.

obseSSed- As much as I hate to admit it the windows were down. I was within 30 ft of the car. Im so down on myself right now...and I deserve it.

Ouch! I'm sorry to hear about that. Is anything salvagable, you may be able to take some things off and possibly sell them to make up the difference in the insurance. I had a friend roll his V-6 bird and it caught on fire. His motor was actually in great shape even though it was burning for 10 minutes before it was put out. He just needed to rebuild it with new gaskets and soft parts and it ran like a champ. Try that first just to see. And for F-body's being hard to steal, that is a big nono. Try this roll your window down about 3/4 of the way then try to get your arm in there. The glass actually flexes far enough to get your arm down there and unlock the door. The problem is the door, it is so long that you can flex that glass quite a ways before it breaks. That's why i always beleive in putting a manual fuel cutoff valve under the car. I drive to work cut the fuel off then turn it back on when i get ready to leave. That way the worst they can do is steal stuff outta the inside. Anyways sorry to hear man and see what can be salvaged and you may be able to buy it back for a few hundred. Then use the parts to make up the difference for the insurance to get you a new f-body.

Wow. Thats all I can say. Right now I am having an alarm installed at circuit-city cause my room mate's truck has been broken into twice in the past 3 months. They tore apart his steering column and tried to steel it but failed....twice. Both happened right outside our window while we were asleep. Now we have alarms with a pager that goes off and wakes us up if some one messes with his truck or my TA. The vehicle also wont start if it goes off either. We keep a baseball bat near the door at night incase we catch them next time!

Holy ****!!! You know how I felt about your car man. I can't believe someone could be so stupid. Judging by your paint you'd put some time into that thing and you can definitely tell you cared for it. I'm seriously shocked and pissed about this for you. Best wishes with your next one and sorry that beautiful specimen had to go out like that. Brings a tear to my eye...

Best regards,
Justin

P.S. Anyway, you look at it you shouldn't feel that you had done anything wrong. the windows were rolled down...so what! That guy was out of line and had no right, he deserves to burn. It's one thing to steal a honda civic. It's a complete and totally different thing to steal and completely demolish such a cherry of a vehicle.

I am sorry for your loss. It sucks someone can destroy something you have worked so hard for in a matter of seconds. He will get what is coming to him. My stomach turned when I saw the pictures. Hope you find something to replace your baby.

We all need a moment of silence
