Best wishes with your next one and sorry that beautiful specimen had to go out like that. Brings a tear to my eye...
Best regards,

P.S. Anyway, you look at it you shouldn't feel that you had done anything wrong. the windows were rolled down...so what! That guy was out of line and had no right, he deserves to burn. It's one thing to steal a honda civic. It's a complete and totally different thing to steal and completely demolish such a cherry of a vehicle.

I'd take a serious interest in seeing this turd die a slow, painful, and bloody death. Car theives make me violent. Think of it as a little chlorine for the gene pool.
I shot one January 17, 1988.
I wasn't shooting to kill (Mini-14 rifle), and he survived. But, finally, someone was held accountable and did NOT get away with it. I'd had that car (1983 Z28) already stolen once before....and I worked my *** off for that car, my first new one.

Man I'm sorry, I know how it feels to have a car you love destoryed by someone stupid. I was rearended by a drunk in my '69 SS last summer, but... Thats why I have the car I have now. Just remember that everything happens for a reason, hard to believe but true. God could have been saving you from something on your way home from work. It took my a long time to accept that.

well take comfort in knowing he wont go to jail because the normal nice guy who got caught going 85 the other day on the freeway will probably be taking his jail cell. Oh yeah, plus the state won't make any money by throwing him in jail. I know it sucks, sorry to hear that man. Just remember, justice will eventually be served.........in this life or the next.......

And I was feeling pissed about the door ding I got on my '02 this weekend. This is really sad news, and I'll be honest as well and say that its too bad the dude didn't get killed. If he had done that to my car and I arrived on the scene, I'd probably have attempted to finish him off. Crime of passion right?
Hope your insurance company takes care of you.
BTW, a friend of mine had his convertible '02 35th SS LE stolen about 2 weeks ago from the Harrah's Casino parking lot in New Orleans. He bought the car only 10 days before it was stolen. I guess they aren't too hard to steal.

I'm no lawyer, but you should push your insurance company hard for the full value of the car. They'll be more willing to pay out the full value because the money they pay you will be the same amount they sue the guy for. Hopefully they can garnish his wages (if he has any) or something of the like, because the type of person who jacks your car isn't going to be easy to collect from.
Edit: Oh yeah, and just maybe the near-death experience will straighten the guy out. Hopefully.

So sorry to hear about your loss. People that do things like this and make it out of the car just fry me. I can't say I know exactly how you feel but I did have a slight taste of the experience a few months ago thanks to my roommate. I'd parked my car at our fraternity house, the same fraternity my roommate was pledging. About an hour goes by and one of my brother's finds me in one of the local bars next door and tells me my car was gone. First thing I though was it had been towed but after talking to the towing company I found that it hadn't been. I was so furious that I just wanted to beat the crap out of whoever had taken my car. So I called the cops to report it and must have smoked an entire pack of cigarettes in the time it took for them to get there. After filing the report and having the sickest feeling in the pit of my stomach that I was never gonna see my baby again my roommate showed up. He proceeds to tell me that he figured I'd want my car the next day and hadn't gotten my spare key off the board in our apartment and took it back home for me. I could have beat the crap out of him right than and there but was just so happy to know it was home and safe that we went back to the bar and I bought him a beer .
Best of luck with the outcome on this.

That totally makes me wanna put my top up everytime I leave my car for a few mins. Guess its time to get a good alarm. Sorry to see that your baby is gone but look at it like this, it can be replaced and you can put your time, sweat and tears into another beautiful car.
