Default Clay Bar question.

I bought a Clay Bar last year and only used it once. It has never been dropped on the ground or got dirty so I was wondering how much you can use it before you have to throw it away?

Also can you buy just a bar without buying the spray that comes with it?

I've been using my same clay bar for about a year now. You can get them without the spray. Don't know about getting them at any local parts store, but any paint shop should have them or you could always order online. I've been using the blue clay magic bar and it works great.

You may also visit local "paint shops" (Where you would buy car paint if you were painting your own car.

They tend to last a long time, as long as you keep "kneading" it when you use it, to keep a fresh side toward the paint surface. If you're in doubt, try it on an inconspicuous spot (like under the bumper or side panels) first and see if it leaves any marks.

I'll usually use my clar bar until it starts to get "dirty" or dries out and falls apart
Zaino sells just the bar, I think 2 come in a container. I've ordered online from
www.ecklers.com
Guess it's been a while since I've been on Sal's site but you can order online now directly from Zaino Bros. too.
I have not seen just the bar itself in the parts stores around here.
I use Zanio car wash diluted with water in a spray bottle for lubricant.

Thanks everyone I still have a good bit of the spray left over but when I run out can I just use some Eagle 1 spray wax?

I usually just use a spray bottle with water and some car wash mixed together. You're looking for something to keep the surface lubricated, and since you're going to wash it all over again anyway, using car wash solution makes it easy.

Thanks everyone. Hopefully I'll have time to do it this weekend.
