Or the other way (the easy way and cheaper) you could just do the whole thing ignoring the hole and cut it out when done and leave the cup holder not covered inside
Agreed..the cup holders are useless as cup holders..they just get in the way

This is true, I don't use it much at all. I wouldn't have to carbon the inside. Great point!!! I do plan on doing much of my interior in carbon fiber tho Prolly get you to do it unless I don't get a job anytime soon lol.

I'd personally just mold some foam in there and keep the contour of the part as if it didn't even have that cupholder in the first place and CF over that. You can use that green foam at hobby lobby or walmart or wherever that is supposed to be used for flower arrangements. Then when you're done, cut that whole damn cupholder out from the bottom and chunk it.

Do you by chance have a write up yet?

Also, did you vacuum bag it or just normal laying it? That just looks so damn good!!

Hey Chad, can you do it to the pads/console door since it's "soft" like the armrests?

you can do it to all of those parts. They just won't be soft anymore when you lay the carbon fiber on them.

he put his over the originals. I did some of my parts that way and then reverse molded some things and then made a new part out of cf, but the molding way is wayyyy more work.

Yep. Molding is a whole different process! I am working on a couple molds right now. Way more labor intense.
