I was thinking of putting the blinker by the headlights as well. That way you can remove the factory blinker. Having it look like 2 air intakes is a nicer look and having an amber DRL up higher will make the car look different even from a distance in the day time.

The only thing you have to keep in mind is that the closer the turn light is to the headlight, the brighter it needs to be in order to see it.

this is a pure american styled car, so i don't think european flair would look right, and it will complicate things

Yea, they are harsh. I was just asking for opinions on different designs and I got hit with people saying that fixed lights don't look good, TA's are supposed to have flip ups, don't make them fixed, your ruining the TA heritage, etc...
I'm like, jeez, get off my back already.

LT1-7, maybe you could post some drawings or something of different designs, and let people choose the one they like the best. If the one with the blinkers gets voted down, then you'll know. Just an idea.

He mentioned a price between $700-$900.

Less than the Breathless units and higher in quality.

WHat BS are they talking about. The first few TAs had fixed headlights. Do some people believe Trans Ams only started in the knight rider era ?

Don't get me wrong- I AM one of the people who wants fixed headlights. I just don't want a blinker incorporated in. That'd ruin it for me and force me to finish making my own set- which unfortunately is going too slow due to my busy schedule. (I am aware that for the first 15 years firebirds had fixed lights too)

I think a few design sketches would be an excellent idea as JasonWW suggested! Then you could do a Poll and see what most people want. I mean if you are creating them, don't you think you'd want the input from your target potential buyers? That would be wise to make the most money possible IMHO. Plus you wouldn't be out as much as if you went all the way and got your first prototype done only to discover more people don't like it. Having a few sketches rendered or drawn would be the more cost effective route. $.02

That is essentially a different car. The lights share nothing in common.

cgworth, what do you want out of your lights? A better beam spread, sharper cutoff, HID or do you just want to get rid of the popup design?

I still think this looks badazz. One of the guys on here designed it
Note ... this design would have the blinker intergrated

That's just a direct copy of the C5 lights. It just doesn't work well on the TA. I would ditch the large reflector blinker light and then have only the 2 projectors. I would then switch them around so the big one is the lowbeam and the smaller one is the highbeam.

Wouldn't there be a lot of empty space if you took out the reflector ?

You tell me. Here's my take on the design.

Note, this has nothing to do with LT1-7's design. Just me goofing around with ideas.
