Don't worry about who doesn't like it. It's YOUR car. It would sure as hell catch my eye if I saw it.

I've heard of many horror stories about them on corvettes on corvetteforum.com. Fittment issues and alignment issues, etc. Also I heard there is a special way to shut them and if someone else tries to shut them that doesn't know how they work they could easily damage them. Thats why I haven't done it to my Vette. (oh- and the PRICE ) I'd figure that the f-body doors would be even worse since they are considerably heavier than a vette door. But good luck to you. I want to see pics too when its all said and done.

the combat kit is ugly as hell lol,
Yes it is,. but think of the air you could move accross a FMIC. Not saying I want one because I don't, just that was my first thought.

The doors will be opened and closed with hydraulics, the gentleman doing them has done a few on vettes an several other vehicles.

From what he says the kit is very well built and came recomended by him (thats how I found the website)

If all goes well he should start on it soon.

Ignore the losers and morons who just want to rain on your parade.......what does he/she have, a whopping 12 posts? Who friggin cares dude. Do what you want, it is YOUR car. I had mentioned being interested in this mod to a buddy of mine on the boards a while back and got the same negative responses you are getting..............maybe someday when it can be more of a show car then a DD.

cicerofire - Ya don't worry about those negative coments and if someone keeps giving you problems, save the PM's and we can take care of it. I'm still 50/50 if I'd do them on my car, seems kinda neat but pricey. Good luck.

What's he charging to install them and how long will it take once begun? I wonder how much weight they add to the vehicle.

Once it is done, see if there is any problems getting in and out of it. Have some taller people try like 6'4" or so. I would hate to do this to my car and have to crane my head more to get into my car. If they go up far enough would be my only concern.

One thing I hate about my car are the damn 747 wings for doors. Like many others, the price is out of my league but I do think it looks cool. As has been said, ignore the losers who can't resist sharing their overly negative opinions.

Being 6'3", smacking my noggin might be a problem.

Actually theres a whole lot of them. I just typed "camaro conversion doors" and got a whole bunch of results. Other key words are lambo doors and verticle doors

Funny you should ask. I just saw earlier to day that there is a a sponsor on LS1.com that has the doors for the f-body.
http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=559112

Unfortunately for the camaro's, they require reshaping of the front fenders for the mirror to clear.
