Default Do Not Use Blackouts/tail Light Covers

Just as the title says, unless you intend on never taking them off. It will put a dent in your tail lights. I guess something to do with the heat of the light? If you have had them on for a while, peel them off and take a look so you'll know what im talking about... looks like im buying another bottle of nite shades.

Yep I had some on for only a week and it did that, then one blew off on the highway... I hate those things now.

I've noticed that only Camaros have this problem. My Formula hasn't had any problems with melting and I havn't heard any Firebird owners complain about it either.

I think the issue is to make sure the covers are in firm. I have had blackouts on my 00 for 3 years no dents in the taillights. I take them off often to clean them.

Its just the hotrod god's way of telling you that those things were cool 15 years ago and don't belong on newer cars

I can't count the number of cars wearing those that I've almost rearended or pulled out in front of....the covers just kill the visibility of the lights. To me, I want my brake and headlights to be as visible as possible so I have a better chance of not getting hit. Besides the tailights on the 98+ cars are just too pretty to cover up

I totally agree. I had them on my 95 Z28 when I first bought it. Then I took them off. It looks better with them off IMO.

I had them on a 1990 GT, when it was brand NEW. Like I said, 15 years ago

Then those vent visors got popular, glad nobody puts those on f-bodies too!

That's why i had mine spray tinted. Clear coat with a small amount of black paint mixed into it to make them tinted. They dont decrease any light output and they look awesome. In my opinion nightshades turns out terrible.

The sidemarkers and third breaklights are done also.

Yup, I had the tailblazers, the ones with the big slots in them, on my old camaro for about a year and it dented the taillights.

I agree. I've got damn near everything blacked out on my car, and I like it. To each his own.
