Fiberglass hood warped...
My fiberglass cowl hood looks warped. The edges don't seem to line up with the fenders or to eachother on the sides. The drivers side has a slight bulge in the center that sits about 1cm above the edge of the fender. The passenger side sits pretty much even with the hood besides right on top of the headlight. I dont think i saw this before. Could a funky Connecticut winter do this to a hood? What the hell should i do? I've only had the car since january and it has no recorded accidents.

I don't know, the guy who owned it before me put it on. it is a 4" cowl hood, you've probably already seen my sig. He kept it in the garage and didnt drive it in the rain. He even said he didnt like driving at night because he didnt want bugs attracted by the lights to hit it. He really had no need for the car since he has a drag racer camaro and a daily driver that he called a "beater" that was in better condition than most cars on the road. Basically, i dont know if his using the car gave the hood ample time to show warpage. I don't know what to do. I think he still has the stock hood but i don't know if i want to revert to stock.

the hood was probably made w/ cheap fiberglast resin... fiberglast allways looses its shape just a little bit if not built up enough and used with the right resin, you want a fiberglast hood made w/ epoxy resin not fiberglast resin... (fiberglast, fiberglass, fibreglast, whatever you wanna call it).... if it dosent show up too bad you may just have to live w/ the look to acheve the weight reduction...
