As many passes as it takes. It really depends on the condition of the paint.

Ok, so.. I just did the mothers claybar kit and wax to mine, should I apply ANOTHER wax or is the wax that comes with it perfect? That was honestly alot of work but DAMN well worth it.

I say if you want to put in the effort, go for it. I thought my paint was really smooth, but after you claybar one section and run your hand from the clayed section to the non-clayed section, it's really shocking.. plus if you are bored on a weekend with nothing to do, it's only like 15.99 from autozone

Even brand new cars need clay sometimes.

Exactly,

it is for removing road film, fine overspray or minor contaminants that a simple wash will not remove. It will not remove orange peel in your paint,
If this is what you want then pay someone that knows what there doing to collor sand and polish it.

If you dont know what your doing with the clay bar do not use it on a darker collored car!

... I've never used it before and mine turned out AWESOME and I have a black car, so I'd have to disagree with this one..

I followed the steps online very closely the first time I did it on my black TA. turned out great also. so yeah, if its your first time and its a dark car, go slow and read/reread the directions

Normally, for daily driven cars you will want to clay 2 times a year.

I'll have to give the clay a try this weekend. I have a lot of swirls so I'll probably follow up with the polishing wax. I'll get a pic of a before (many swirls) and an after. Hopefully it turns out as good as you guys says it does. I have yet to do it so I'm gonna have to be extra careful.

If you have a lot of swirls, you are going to need a good polish...something stronger than a cleaner wax. You should be able to find some 3M polishes locally...you might look for something like 3M Machine Glaze.

Any brand of polish/swhirl remover that you recommended incase we can't find 3M? I have Zaino but I keep getting told that it only covers and hides the swhirls and scratches. This true? I might as well use the Zaino that I have and finish it off before buying a new brand.

I use Menzerna and Poorboy's polishes, but those are online only. There should be someone who has 3M or Meguiar's (professional) products.

Zaino is meant to be a last step product...applied after you have properly prepped your finish.

I used Meguires' Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner and then the NXT wax a couple weeks before i clayed the car. The paint cleaner and the NXT got rid of pretty much any visible swirl marks. I clayed and and waxed it again a couple weeks later and the paint shined better than new as u can see here

Also helps to use the microfiber towels for that waxing portion.

Wax or glaze is only a temporary patch, it will not repair or eliminate any scratch.
