Default Clay bar + Nxt Wax = WOW! Pics

Clay barred my car today, then used the NXT Car Wax, man she shined up so pretty I almost cried! Update with pics! Wish i had a better camera....

So I figured since i got her so nice and clean I'd take her to the Orlando Speedway for the first time. My first time out there also, second pass I got a 13.81, pretty good i think for stock and only my first time out.

Took me about 45 minutes to claybar the entire car, I got the stuff from AutoZone, called Mother's Clay Bar I think... came with a spray bottle to lubricate also. I washed the car first, claybarred, washed again, then waxed.... I used the micro fiber towels i got from Walmart, they were pretty cheap and worked great, didn't leave any swirl marks. It's quite a bit of work, but well worth the time.

Nice .. How long did it take to clay the car? I need to get some crap outta my paint and have been putting it off for far to long. What steps did you take to get it all done ? Wash ? clay ? Wash ? polish ? wax ? What towels did you use ? How hard is it to clay a car ?

i've used the same process a few times before with the clay and NXT. Results are great and I have no complaints there.. however, the only fallback i see is the NXT wax longevity (??).. i think thats the word Im looking for. I can layer it in coats over a few days but by the next wash it feels like its all been washed away. Im using Meguiars deep crystal wash which isnt too harsh either. Anyways, the results on your car is prrof this is god ish.

Black is definitely the color to have to really show off a good wax job.

Would the wax I put on my car last weekend keep the clay bar from working? Should I wait for a few more hand-washes before I use a clay bar? Or, will the clay work just as well?

I believe you just have to give your car a wash with some sort of dishwashing soap before the clay. This will also get rid of any debris, dirt, and whatever else before the clay

main thing to keep in mind is that all clay bars are the same, from Zaino to Mothers to Meguiars to whatever else, they're all the exact same part number. The lubricant is a different story, but you can use normal car soap with water as your lubricant.

Your car looks gorgeous, though, GREAT job!

Hey thanks for the compliments! I haven't been able to take my eyes of my car since i detailed it yesterday! I'm in love! I know sounds lol

I didn't do the tire gloss cuz i wanted to get the pics before the sun went down, and the wheels will come in time, i want to get some performance mods done first. Oh and I took the SLP SS grill off just for the hell of it and i like it better without. I think it looks meaner.

Think i'm gonna try that glaze #7 next time, they have that at regular parts stores?
