I'd wash the car again, not to remove the wax per se, but to get the dirt/dust/bugs/etc off, or you'll just be putting more swirls in the paint because the dust/dirt will act as an abrasive.
Wash it, hit it with the IP on an orange pad (PC speed 4-4.5) wipe off any residue with a 50 50 alcohol water mix and see if the swirls are gone, then use the FP2 on a blue pad wipe down the whole car with the alc water mix inspect the finish (and if satisfied) and top with your favorite wax/sealant
Mine's a DD so it'll never be perfect, but I got rid of 90% of the swirls with the above process
