Default My first ALL OUT detail

Here's what I did:
-Wash
-Clay Bar
-Wash
-Dry
-Meguiars 83 (cutting pad)
-Meguiars 80 (cutting pad)
-Meguiars 83 (polishing pad)
-Meguiars 80 (polishing pad)
-Spray and wipe with 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and Water (to remove "trade secret" oils in Meguiars so Zaino can bond)
-Zaino Z5
-Zaino Z6
-Zaino Z2
-Zaino Z6
-Zaino Z5
-Zaino Z6
-Zaino Z2
-Zaino Z6

-Zaino Z6
Took quite a bit of time, but I think it turned out pretty good. You can still some some light scratches, but ALL the swirls are gone!

Pictures usually never give the paint the proper justice. Great job though. Too bad my paint has too many scratches and rock chips to make this job worth it.

Beautiful.

Did you use a buffer/polisher machine?

Or did you apply the cutting stuff by hand?

Took me about 12 hours, taking a few breaks of course. But yeah, I used a Meguiars (made by Porter Cable) DA polisher. Next time, I am going to use an even more aggressive polish to see if I can't get ALL the defects out.

Painted mine with a high quality (if there is such a thing) silver metallic spray paint. Repaint every few months to keep em looking good. I never liked the metal design.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Makes me feel like I didn't waste my time

It takes the contaminants out of your paint, like the brake dust, tree sap, etc, etc, etc. Use some type of lube (soap and water works fine, or the stuff that comes with the clay bar works also)
You can tell if your paint needs clayed by putting your hand in a baggie and rubbing the paint (after you've washed it of course) if it feels rough, it needs clayed
