Default Advise: Is this a good deal on a brand new OE SS hood???

Hey all:

I just found a deal on a brand new in the box SS hood for a 98-02 Camaro that is OE from GM part #12369963. It is brand new and primered. I can pick it up from them which is about a hour and half away for $800.00 cash. What do you all think?

Does anyone know if that is the correct part # for the hood?

Thanks Ken

One more question? I had them check the hood and see if it was fiberglass or metal and they said it was fiberglass. I thought they where metal?

it's actually made of SMC, it's a fiberglass-type material

Yup both hoods are fiberglass, the OE Z28 and Firebird/Trans Am Hoods with no scoops/ram air are metal, but not the SS or WS6 ones

I picked up the hood today brand new in the box for $800.00. I called the dealer we use at work to get a price and they have went up.

Retail customer price was $2,350.00 + tax. My price on it through my work was $1,507.00 + tax

I couldn't be more pleased. It goes in on Monday for paint and install.

Thanks again for all the help guys....
