The bulb isn't available seperately, it's an all in one assy, close to $70 from the dealer, look on ebay or the local junkyard for a replacement (unless of course you're handy with a soldering iron) pry off the cover of the control (small screwdriver), and replace the board
You can also try to contact T/A fan dan, he has DIY instructions on how to replace the bulbs (dunno if he's still an active member or not)

Just grab some high output white LEDs and some resistors and use those.
I have replaced almost every light in my car with 1 or more 20k mcd LEDs including toggle buttons, door handle lights, ac/gauge cluster/light switches etc.
It all looks better anyway, nice shade of white/blue instead of crappy yellow.

Okay, I popped out one of the steering wheel controls and I can only get it back in if I leave it unplugged. It seems impossible to plug the wire back in since it is so short. If anyone has done this, did you plug in the circuit board with it in the control housing or out of it? How did you do it?

If you have a 98+ F-body, then definately.

New guy here but, Just wanted to jump on here and thank everyone who contributes to this forum. Just purchased a 95 ls1 ta. Love it but, being **** I had to de-bug it a little. And thanks to you guys it wasn't bad at all. I just wanted to point out a couple things that seemed to have some misconceptions. First I had to change out the lights on my steering wheel controls. That module pops right out with some gentle pursuation. No messing with the air bag or anything else. The soldering is a bit tricky (due to how small the bulbs are). The bulbs you are looking for are available at Radio shack for about 2 bucks Part #272-1154, 12v bi-pin lamp. I saw a couple of post that folks claimed getting the plug back in was impossible... Hold the little bastard at the very rear with a small needle nose plier and push the module back onto it. 10 seconds. On a separate note. Who came up with that skip shift thing? What a POS. Took your guys advice and went back to radio shack and picked up part #2711121, 2.2 kohm 1/2 resistor and installed it per one of you threads. Works perfect.. The bad, you have to buy five of them. The good, 99 cents. Anyway, wanted to thank you guys for the education.. I'll be back!

For those that have traction control and always have to turn it off, you can buy a programable relay for about $30 and have it press the TC button automatically after a time delay. You don't have to even think about it anymore.
The advantage over just pulling the fuse is that if it's rainy and you want to turn it on, you just push the button from inside.
