Default Are Sportlines dangerous?

Funny title, but I have been wondering if the Sportlines I just put on could cause my back tires to rub the wheel wells at all. I still have the stock size 245/50R16's, stock struts and shocks, and then just the Sportlines. Would it a good idea to change them out for something with a less drastic drop? Just wondering, because my friend opened his mouth and got me worried. Please help. Thanks.

With stockers you wont have any problem. Now with bigger tires and wheels you will. I've got 18" wheels and 275/40's and my prokit's rub in sharp corners If you get new wheels/tires down the line I'd suggest 30 series.

Have you ever had any bottoming out or truly negative experiences with them? I LOVE the stance and I'd love to keep them, and am just trying to figure out if I have any real reason to get rid of them.

I did a small amount of hammering and rolled the fender lip and they fit great, now these are 17x11 and 315's so I see u having no problems.

Thats because you went with a 40 sidewall. You should have gone with a 35. Your tires with the 40's are actually about 1/2inch taller then stock, but that still won't throw off the speedo. The sections that you are rubbing you could always take a heat gun and mold the plastic "in" a little bit more and that'll stop it.

Thank you everyone for the much needed reassurance. I've also heard that springs like ours will kill 60-ft. times...true? I've got adjustable LCA's/PHR and the relocation brackets as well. Wouldn't this help?

60' will drop a tested 2 tenths with these springs on stock 275 40 17 tires.

Adjustable LCA's and And relocation brackets will help move the lift point into a corrected position..

By the way I am running sportlines w/18x10.5" wheels and GS-D3 285 35 18 tires and all I had to do was Shave the bump stops about 1/2"

I have hit the bump stops in the rear a few times and no rubbing

I'd say they are dangerous. You seen that Axe bodyspray commercial? Yeah, you get the idea.

I have the ss 17's on and I've never bottomed out or had anything bad happen. I did have to get the lca relocation brackets to fix all the wheel hop the sportlines gave me on hard acceleration. The only thing I don't like about them is the performance. My camaro with the prokit rides and takes corners great, but the sportlines give a real bouncy ride and don't like hard turns. I think they are to spongy. I do love the stance they give though

i have sportlines on stock springs but with 18x10 285/40's in the rear and there is no rub still... although i did have to bang out my sidewalls with a rubber mallet lol

so what i am saying is that you will be fine. no rubbing unless you forget to secure all the lug nuts =p
