How are you applying tirewet?
I can't seem to figure out a way where it wont spatter up all over my car. I spray it on a rag away from my car and then whipe the tire till its coated really good. I then let it sit for a few minutes and come back and dry it with another rag, clean rag to get off any extra. All looks fine and danndy but the minute I take it out for a spin I got little tirewet dots all down the side of my car, so my 4 hour detail job looks like ****. Its starting to really annoy me.
What are some of the ways you guys are gettin the shine on the car and not the paint? I'm using Black Majic tire wet in the spray is there something better? I've used the foam before and have gotten the same results after I dry the tire down.
Thanks

I'm using the same tire shine you are with a foam applicator and I don't get any splatter. Just make sure it isn't caked on there. I just put a nice layer on there and make sure it isn't dripping to begin with.

Use one of those foam applicators that is contoured to the shape of the tire (kinda crescent moon-shaped on one side). Spray the tirewet on the pad, and wipe on the tire. Make sure to give it ample time to dry, or it will spin off. I usually wait about an hour and have no problems with my Black Magic (spray)...

I use Black Magic and the bottle specifically states "NO RUBBING REQUIRED, SPRAY AND GO!" but it doesn't spray. It ejects outa the bottle in splotches and gets ALL OVER my rims, so I spray spots of the tire and rub it with a towel.

I guess I just need to let it sit alittle longer then I'm doing and may cut back more on the applying. Seems like you all are doing the same stuff I do, cept the 3 hours. Thanks for the tip guys and gals.

I like the Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Gel. You should be able to find it at O'reilley's, Autozone, etc. I use the Eagle One tire swipes to apply it. This stuff lasts for weeks and as long as you don't over do it and let it sit, you should'nt get any spinoff. Here is a pic of what it makes the tires look like.

This Should Be A Sticky
Hey I came up some pretty trick ideas for shining your rubbers...LOL
#1. If you are doing a spray on application try this: measure your wheel diameter and add 1/8 "- then transfer this measurement to a piece of cardboard ( I used a waxed cardboard-you know the ones you see around town that advertise garage sales or such, it was free after dark )
Affix some kind of handle in the center after you cut out your template. This gives you an easy way to hold it over your wheel while spraying tire detailer. I used an old cabinet ****, anything will work, just use care not push against your wheel if using something metallic. It eliminates wiping the wheels twice.
#2. Can be found at the dollar store, (I used the one from our kitchen) never mind you might want to go buy one got hammered for it. What I am getting at is, there is sponge with a resevoir at the end that can be filled with dish soap for dishwashing. I"m looking at this one day (yeah I was doin' the dishes) and that light bulb went off in my head. This thing could be filled with liquid silicon for dressing low profile tires. The sponge measured 1.5" x 3".
