You're gonna need a Canon EOS based lens in order to fit it. Look at Tamron, Quantaray, Sigma, Tokina and of course Canon.

I think desktop quality depends on what you make of it. Those pics just need to be @ a higher resolution to be desktop quality (which Im assuming is what you were meaning) b/c its a different setup seeing the burnout w/ the nitrous purge, and the wheelstand. They're cool pics and none-the-less you should be proud of 'em!

Mark, that over-the-top view w/ the Thunderbird is . Were you up in a cherry picker, or the roof rafters/trusses cause DAMN, it looks like you're about 20' above even the stabilizer lol. Should've taken a pic w/ the #5 then people could've asked you why the # is upside down lol.

Tamron, Quantaray, and Tokina are all gonna be about as good as the POS lens that comes with the Rebel. Plus you already have an 18-55mm lens correct? 18-29 is an average wide angle range but without a full-size sensor like on the 1Ds and 1Ds Mk II you're not going to see the full effects of wide angle. I use a top of the line Sigma with a 24-70/2.8 range and a top of the line Tamron 17-29 wide angle (yeah..i said Tamron sucks and it does)...but i'm upgrading to Canon L glass all around soon. Your camera is gonna be worthless with cheap glass in it so save money and buy Canon or high-end Sigma. If you want wide stuff without a wide lens, shoot further back and crop in PS...the camera has MORE than enough resolution to give you this effect. This is at 24mm with a Canon 10D --> http://www.mctullis.com/stormscape.jpg

Good luck...and do research before you buy. Please.
