Wow, those pieces perfectly complement each other. Excellent progression from your earlier stages of painting. You're getting damn good.

Your flames have improved alot since you started, especially the plain flames on the frcs and intake!

I also like the pheonix lid. The way it appears like a ghost coming out of the flames is , though you proved your ability to do figures in flames already.

As far as the blue/silver lid, I'd have to see better pics, but it looks like you have some fading on the edge of the silver, and I'd like to see this ellaborated a bit to give the whole bird more of a 3D feel that can only be achieved with paint. As it stands, at least in this pic, it looks like it could have been done just as easily in vinyl.

Yeah, the edges of the feathers are faded, and they do look very good and 3D like in person, but I can't seem to capture it with the camera. I am pretty sure its the dim lighting, and bright flash that takes a lot away from it in these pics... I'll try again tomorrow in the sunlight for better ones.

Cool. I'll check back on this thread later. I'm sure it looks much better in person (not that it looks bad at all in the photo). Try to get an ambient light bright enough that your don't need the flash. Then you should be able to capture more detail (or ...more of de tail).

Don't discount the praise I gave you, too! You are gifted enough (and in the past have been accepting enough of advice) that when I see your work I not only see how good it is, but also what your capable of. For the blue bird, I just think it would be cool if the whole bird (blue and silver/white, not just the silver/white) had the shading. I don't know what you were going for, but think that would be cool...kind of car-toon realism .

Thanks. No, no offense taken at all. I love feedback, and thats why I posted them up. I was doing that lid for a friend with an NBM T/A, and his accents are silver, so I was trying to incorporate that theme in for him with the lid. Better pics will follow.

There is no other word for your work other than amazing... VERY impressive. Makes the flame job on mine look amature (wasn't done by me - I'm no artist).... but mine are understated... how much do you charge for a job similar to that?
