Question Car Cover Cleaning

I have a cover craft car cover for my camaro that was intended to be used outside. Now after months of use it is very dirty and was wondering what was the safest way to clean the damn thing. I was thinking about dry-cleaing or even just washing it but I wanted to make sure first.

Not sure what cover craft's covers are made of, but I have SLP's cover. I simply stick mine in the washer.(cold cycle) Then throw it in to dryer for a few mintues.

Comes out looking brand new.

I take mine to the local laundrymat. Most of them have an industrial size washer that can accomodate the cover's large size.

I dont know if this helps at all, but i was always "up in the air" how to wash my car cover.
I know they have waterproofing on them, and i remember after washing one of my weatherproof coats (like columbia or what not) the weatherproofing would decrease ALOT after a couple washes, so i was always afraid to stick my car cover in the drier. Does the same thing happen with car covers?

Forget that "waterproof" nonsense, it's not any good. If you get anything more than a light drizzle for more than a few minutes, you car still gets soaked underneath. Trust me, I've done plenty of "trial and error" things with my TA. I used a Carcraft cover. After a while, even with a wash now and then, the cover would collect pollen in it. It would be fine with dry weather, but when it rained, the rain mixed with the pollen and soaked through the cover, leaving a nice yellow blotchy film all over. My new cover works great, it's made of concrete and has it's own opening door and room for all my waxes and polishes!
