Default Installing Gauge overlays

When putting the white face gauges on do you have to remove the stock black overlay and then slide the white face on. The reason I am asking is because the white overlay is sticking to my needles. Any help would be great!!!!!

AFAIK for the overlays you leave the black overlay on and the other adheres to it.
Do you have overlays or the replacement (does it have the speedo/tach as one decal, and the other gages seperate, or are they all on one sheet?

All on one sheet, then you need to remove the OEM overlay, and the needles so you can get them on, remember to mark the position of your needles before removing them, or you'll have some funky gage readings

Agreed with the above two. My speedo used to be 5mph off, then I went from stock rims to 17inch rims and now my speedo is 10mph off. Says I'm going 55 when I'm really only going 45.

DONT remove the needles. check the size of the holes that the needles come through.. is it nearly the same size as the black disks? you can slide it over them! just point all the needles in the same direction. o the 97+ Camaros and 98+ T/As the gauge cluster is all electronic. so as long as you don't remove the needles you won't need to worry about alignment.

Most of the full overlays I've seen (admittedly only in pictures) appear to require needle removal, while the other style don't, I guess it comes down to do you feel comfortable taking the needles off, and getting them back in the right spot, or not

Mine was a full one piece overlay. sliding over was easy. whether you can do it really depends on the size of the holes the gauge pivots come through. the ones on mine were big enough to slip over. got some of teri's Decals on it to.
