I ordered a wet kit from Dean and some other stuff. Before everything arrived i finally began to work on a bench to cover the two ugly craters that were in the back. plus i figured it would be a good place to mount the bottle. I just used some 1/4" sandply, 1/4" foam padding, and some charcoal colored vinyl. It has the same texture too as the factory abs plastic.

I went ahead too and began to remove all the crap i needed to take off to get to the plugs and wires. I was looking at my factory coils and brackets and wanted to clean them up. I had a set of painted FRC's but i kinda liked the way they looked before. Black with the dark red "Corvette" letters. I wanted to try and add some red accents. I have a ton of paint laying around from various projects and i just happend to have a quart of some high heat red the same color as my STB. While i was at it I decided to do what i could to my valve covers to make them look better since the looked like absolute . My damn drill broke so i had to do them the old fashion way..lol. I had time to kill, so i killed lots of time, and my arms. I polished the inside of my Maf ends and hit the outsides with the red too.

here's the covers and brackets.

Many hours later

once i get my headers and intake i can ditch the stupid air and egr. I guess i could block them off but i don't really wanna mess with it right now. This is before i put the stuff back on. I still need to get some black wrap for the fuel lines. Tr6's and Taylors are in

Finally after many sweaty humid hours staring at wires, diagrams, and many trips to various parts places i got the kit in. What an ordeal that was ...lol. Twice i went all the way to the speed shop for crap i didn't even need. I have no idea how that happened. Lets just say i'm glad to be done, and i could probably do it in 1/2 the time if i had too again. Heres some pics of the kit and gauges.

it's hard to get a good pic from a distance of the lights.

i have a longer purge hose to route and wrap in wire loom still.

I need to do my water pump gasket, so i think my next thing will be a ploished Meizer pump, polished TB and Tensioner. Maybe a Weiand down the road

Looks very nice. How well is the paint sticking to the coil packs? By painting them red, at first glance they look like the new MSD coil packs.

I have a Urethane based primer i use on any kind of plastic or rubber. A light sanding is a good measure but you really don't need to. Just a good cleaning with a strong degreaser. The stuff sticks to plastics like cement. I gave a day to cure between all coats. 2 primer, 2 finish. Then i let them sit for about 3 days before i put them back on. I let them sit out in the sun quite a bit too.

I'm thinking about color matching the gauge bezels to my interior trim. If i do that, there is a good chance my halos will get covered too. I figured if i don't like them, i can always paint them back.

It was..lol. sometimes i had to just walk away. I would be in the garage sweating my butt off and half the time i couldn't see. There were so many things running through my head at certain times that my brain started going in cirlces. You wouldn't think there would be so much work for just running a couple lines and wires. I tried to wire everything up for ease of installation/removal. My gauge pillar pops out and diconnects in seconds. Pretty much made all my wire harness from scratch and wraped them all before runnung them. It was a little bit of a pain but int the end it was worth it.

They were more of a pain to sand than polish. Sometimes i used a grit that was probably too rough, but my covers had all kinds of marks in them and imperfections from the factory. That only meant i had to follow up with two smaller grits to smooth out the marks. I used my little mouse sander on them and some by hand. I'm still amazed at how well the Mouse worked. Got into pretty much every nook and cranny. Wow..i don't hink ive ever typed nook and cranny before..lol. Cranny? Is that even a word?

I guess it just sounded funny to me.
Webster says..... Cranny-1 : a small break or slit : CREVICE
2 : an obscure nook or corner

i just finally got to hit the bottle the other night. Only a 75 hit but....man she pushed like a mo fo. Time to up the juice. Anyone who has even thought about getting the juice..go for it, even if it is only as 75 hit. The motor seems to love it. And buy it from Dean if you do.

Looks good, but the red doesn't go with your dark red paint, I would have painted them to match the color of your car and interior. The red roll bar is way out of place.

Great idea though!

Yea. The harness bar is coming out real soon. I bought it more for looks and points at shows. A cage is going in before long and some proper seats. The car is starting to see more track time than show time, so my priorities are shifting.
