Billet *****
Since MBA is gone, does anyone know if the HVAC ***** from say a c/k series truck will fit our HVAC, if they do there are hundreds of styles to choose from.
From the pics of both sets of HVAC controls they look very similar, and it wouldn't be crazy to think GM used basically the same controls on several different lines...............Would it ?
Anyone with both an F body and a truck want to try it out, and see if the ***** are interchangable

I bought my ***** off of Ebay a couple weeks ago. The MBA ones. I know the guy has a couple sets. I'll try and post up a link for you later if you're still interested in these.
Prices range from $75-$100 bucks usually plus shipping. Includes all 4 *****, with the option of anodizing.

Yes the MBA web page does still exist, but it says they are closed as of 7/27/05, the page is supposed to be updated in mid august, but it's October, and no update, so I'm not holding my breath

Sorry, just checked and he doesn't currently have any for sale. His tag is DirtRider5000 though. He's sold quite a few sets of *****, I wouldn't hesitate to send him a message and see what he has.

I bought the ***** off of DirtRider on EBay and I am EXTREMELY and I do mean EXTREMELY disappointed.
#1: The ***** were supposed to be polished to a mirror finish. They had milling marks ALL over them and I mean every single ****. Not just one or two marks but all over the entire surface. There is no way they were polished after coming out of the mill.
#2: In addition I paid for red anodize. While the anodize was pretty good, the red only made the milling marks stand out more.
#3: Installation is a BITCH. I am pretty mechanically inclined and have done tons of mods to my car, but this was a bitch. You would think it would be a simple of matter of pulling off the old ***** and pushing the new ones on. NO, NO and NO. These are held on by the most ridiculous method, a set screw. You have to completely disassemble your HVAC and pull the controls out, drill holes at just the right angle and position on the rear of the plate so you can get an Allen wrench in there to tighten the set screws. None of this was mentioned in the auction. Took me damn near an hour to install 3 freakin' *****.
#4: Emailed him back with my concerns and didn't even have the decency to respond.
You guys wanted feedback while here is mine: Stay away from this guy.

The ***** came as MBA made them. You can't blame the milling marks on him, unless somehow he bought them blemished?
Mine are the same way, but I'm going to sand them down and smooth them. Then I need to have them anodized locally.
Expensive price to pay I guess for an accessory. But I think it's worth it, this kind of stuff really stands out IMO.
Parbreak, do you mind emailing the instructions you got for installation? Email address: bmxlbkorn@aol.com
Take my oppinion as a grain of salt, but I like them. Installation does sound like a major PITA though.

I most certainly can blame the milling marks on him. He advertised them as highly polished. That means to me that they are polished and free of blemishes. I have absolutely no problems in paying any price if it's something I really want , but I would like the item as described. Also, I have a hard
time believing these were MBA products. I have almost every piece MBA ever produced for LS1 and every piece I bought directly from them was perfect.
I was so pissed after installing them that I through the instruction away.
Shoot me an email tomorrow and I'll explain the install.
Thanks
Bryan
