I have seen these done two different ways. One where you paint just the front and then the ones like yours where you paint into the light a little bit. I have heard that when you do it the way you did it the visibility is reduced. Did you notice much of a difference with this done? I have been looking into doing it just like you have done it, but I skeptical of how much it will effect the visibility at night. Your input would be greatly appreciated. And by the way that is a very nice car you have there it will be some time until mine gets anywhere close to how I want it to look since I am still a poor college student.

Dont think it was the guys name but more a user name on the forums. His car had some unreal modifications. Here is the link.

When I did it to my old car I actually could tell absolutely no difference at night

He was the first one on record to do the mod, I am telling you it is a fact, not a guess why they call it the whistler mod

He might not have been "the" original, but he was the one who started the whole deal on here so everyone kept saying "that whistler headlight mod", hence how it was started.
