I am nearly in the same boat as you as far as age. I modded my first fbod in high school and am now in my 3rd year of college and on my 3rd fbody. I think you shoudl just stick with performance for now, an SS does not need much to be nice. I try to do mine seasonal. I got the car last spring and did some appearance mods first.. When the car is in the garage for the fall i save all my money for performance mods, in winter i buy and install the mods. When i get it out in spring time i save my money for appearance mods, summer comes and i have them installed. But anything you do have a plan

Dude, honestly, if i had your particular car, all i would even consider doing to it would be a black rear filler panel and maybe a new grille.

Why not split it down the middle?

Buy a go fast goodie or two for every appearance mod you do?

I think given your current mods and your situation I would spend some money on the exterior, I think that car could really use some kind of black stripes, the manta thing always looks nice, but I dont think you should feel obligated to pour money into performance just because its supposed to be a fast car

I dont feel obligated to do anything, I want to do all of this stuff. I had never worked on a car before now, and now I'm in love with cars and working on them. I try and do everything myself so I can get the experience. I dont really want stripes on the car, and I would only do the manta hood stripe if I got some sort of chrome wheels. I know my car looks like a 4x4, but I dont have the cash for springs and shocks right now. I guess I'm gonna do an appearance mod for every performance mod. Cop car, those rims look awesome and definately give it a sleeper look, if i do get my wheels powdercoated, i will probably do the berger panel to add to the black wheels. I am also gonna paint my calipers red in the next week, and paint some stuff under the hood. I already have my valve covers painted red. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys. Keep 'em comin.

I've seen far too many friends invest tons of money into their car for the "go fast" mods and then it breaks and they're out all that cash they invested.

if i were in your boat with the v6 i would be doing the same thing. but anyways thats not a bad idea with going appearance do to not having enough money to fix it when it breaks.

Really, I think that it would be the other way around, with a v6 mod it to make it faster first, with the SS which is already fast, concentrate on the appearance. Ah well, I'm doing the engine last because I love the car show scene.

true, but it would take an awful lot to compete with the ls1 crowd out there. my friend has a 94 v6, it has headers, catback, cold air, nitrous and that thing is still slooooooowwww. it is a good looking car though. he has clear corners, turn signals, and taillights. chrome 18x9.5 c5's. the car is maroon with silver stripes. he does have a good system too, 7.5 clarion touchscreen, dvd, cd, mp3, nav. and a JL W7 10" woofer and a 500watt JL amp. for one 10 that thing hits hard.

Can anyone photoshop the wheels in the pics on the first page so that they are gloss black, and maybe one of the pics with a black berger panel and one with a manta stripe or decal below the hood scoop?? I would greatly appreciate these because it will give me a really good idea of where I wanna go with my car. Also, if you could do all of the above on a front angle of the car, and lower it a touch, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again everyone.

Please, NO MORE go fast mods for awhile.

High schoolers drive SOOOOO horrible. Especially high schoolers with fast cars and ricers. They think they have to constantly drive with the pedal to floor just in case someone they want to "impress" is watching.

There are some exceptions to the rule, but my friends and I were high schoolers just 3 or 4 years ago and I know from experience how bad/crazy/idiotic of drivers they are.

my experience is that only ricers drive with pedal to the floor constantly.....im a firm believer that they have to drive fast to show their fast, but when you know your fast you have nothin to prove.....i drive slow unless provoked.......its not very nice to put us 'highschoolers' int he same category as RICERS....that just low
