Need help with body shop.
Need help with body shop. Well, I am having a problem with the body shop doing a good job on painting the front bumper and the two front fenders. This will be the fourth time that they will attempt to paint it. There is nothing but dust particles in the paint, the paint is bubbling in a few spots on the bumper, and the front bumper and fenders are not aligned anywhere near satisfactory standards.
Is there anything I can do to have the body shop pay for the fenders/bumper be painted somewhere else? I was thinking about taking them to small claims court or something but I do not want to waste my time if it is not going to get me anywhere.
When I brought my car in there a month ago, I pointed out to them all the areas that I wanted them to redo. A lot of alignment issues withing the different panels etc. When I got the car back 3 weeks later, it was worse then when I brought the car in.

I'm going through the same **** right now, only I'm taking the mother ****** to court. We contracted to align the front clip of my car and paint it with a factory look and I got neither. He is trying to claim that for $1,200 I got what I paid for. This ****** even sanded the edges of my driver's side t-top because he thought it was painted. I've got an expert witness lined up, other people that he has pissed off, and lots of photos so I know I'll win. Good luck to you but I'd take the people to court if I were you.

also flex for 1200 bucks it should have been a satisfactory job for sure.
scrmnws6 go to a different shop and get an estimate to get it fixed the right way and tell them they need to pay for it. if not take them to court.

This body shop is located in Naperville, Gerber Collision and Glass. They are the worst body shop ever.
I have painted a Mustange with my friend in a garage and it came out looking million times better than what Gerber did. I am just sick of leaving my car with them. They dont even know how to drvie stick, and my new clutch feels like crap now.
I wish I never took my car to Gerber.

Sorry for you man, but learn from this. From now on ask around and search about a company's reputation before doing business with them. I wish I would have done that because only now do I know what a piece of **** this guy is that worked on my car. Good luck to you, and may hindsight be 20/20.

Take them to court. I've had to. I went with the "low bid" for a basic re-paint on a mustang OMFG what hell I went through. The clear coat cracked and peeled it was a joke, and they said it was my fault etc..
I went to another shop and he knew exactly what they did wrong and offered to help me with my case. Take pictures of their shop, your car, and find the owners real name and home address.
If your car is drivable DON'T get it fixed until after the judgment. The judge walked out and looked at my car..didn't take him long

Same here, its hard to look at my car because of the swirl marks (color sanded and buffed a month after he finished the paint job) but I plan on entering it into evidence as well as the pics I took.
I am not going to get anything done until after court. What I would really want them to do is write me a check for an estimate that I am going to go have done and then I will take it to that shop and have them do it for.
A member from MFBA.org owns his own body shop. He has a very good reputation and I wish I knew he had a body shop before I took my car to Gerber. If anyone needs a great body shop in the Chicagoland area, PM me and I will give you his info.
