Yeah it is. The top "curve" of the S is normally shorter than the bottom.

I think it's just the angle of the camera or something. The black around the emblems seems to throw off the balance.
We have the 69 emblems on our tail panel and it looks upside down too, but it looks EXACTLY the same way both ways. Drives me crazy.......LOL

Ah, that's what the problem is... being a first gen emblem that we're not used to seeing. Since the 4th gen "SS" emblems are even compared to the angled 1st gens.

I see what you mean Teri. It does look upsidedown. There is only a slight difference in the length of the top of the S and the bottom. I bet if you flipped it, it would be perfect. I had the same problem when putting the SS emblems on my 67 Camaro. You just have to put them on and take a step back. To tell which side is correct, your eyesight has to be almost perpendicular to the panel, like so. --|. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out which side was correct. Hope this helps.

even the SS emblems i got off an 01 SS look bigger at the top even if you turn them upside down, its because they "S"s are equal sized and just naturaly look top heavy, thats why some emblems with "S"s in them make the top curve smaller so its looks proportional
