Gotta be the rarest of the Hugger cars ZL1 =)

Those cars are ****. Nothing about them makes them worth 75k. GMMG decided to buy some old stock, and rip off a good idea from decades ago, then pawn it off as the "real" thing. Makes me want to gag. For half that price I could get one off ebay, do nice exterior mods and put a whole lot more than 500hp in the engine.

I look at it this way, the people that buy these cars are real car guys, your not gonna see anyone that doesn't know jack about cars, buying one of these. There Fbody fans, and they have the money to buy a factory Camaro supercar, and they buy it, instead of a Ferrari or some other high doller car. Yes, they may never go out and drive it like its made to be driven. But if you had one, who you take it to the track all the time and put it at risk for diaster?

That's the big question. Not just for ZL1's, but for all Fbodys.

It is a really nice car, and probably worth the money.
The car was repainted Hugger orange, so I wouldn't think the color would have anything to do with the rareity. Just the fact that it is a ZL1 and Bergers personal car.

Someone help me out here but from what I've read, it's NOT a factory car. It didn't come from chevrolet, a bunch of cop version camaros were bought and modded by GMMG. I just see a company trying to capitalize on the ZL1 title. Anyone have more information?
Now if it was a COPO that's a different story!

I emailed Berger and asked them to answer your question. Cause I'm not sure myself. I'm sure that as far as value goes, they will be treated as though they where a COPO, even if they arn't.

To be honest with you anyone who buys a zl1 for 80K+ is an idiot. You can recreate everything about them and more for less than that. So you buy it for the name, why. I don't see the purpose in bringing back things from the past to cash in on old great ideas. Just like witht the "hemi" it's not a hemi, but it's got the name, so people will spend more money on a name. That's stupid IMO. Next thing you know they are going to be selling tall skinny tires for $500 a piece because it was what was used back in the day. Sorry if I offend someone, I'd just like to know the purpose behind spending this kind of cash on one of these cars. On that ebay list it said someone bid 850,000 and the reserve was still not met. That my friend is an idiot!

GMMG is not part of GM
and yes, GMMG bought a bunch of B4C cars and made Bergers and the ZL1s. whats probably going to be funny is that in 20 years nobody will care about Bergers and ZL1s becuase they werent factory and they will be taking all the stuff off to make them into B4Cs to have in car shows

ugly...O man I missed the window sticker on that beast. Let me tell you what stuck out to me like a sore thumb...
Zl1 Supercar Options Price - $42,890
Since when did decals become so expensive. Honestly, what is this for?
12-bolt rear end with 4.56 gears $3,995
I could pick a 12-bolt up right now brand new for less than $2,500 and I know labor isn't $1,500
Phase III 427CI engine - 23,995
Just wow, Let me do this my way...(better than what they spec)
Ported c5r heads - $6,000
Lets just say a stout 402 short would cost about $4,500, so lets add 6,000 for the c5r block.
Now a beastly cam from futral would cost say $500
1,000 for fuel and another 2,000 for exhaust.
That my friends is $22,000. I've added $6,000 for c5r heads which aren't included normally, so you are looking at a powerplant that is less than $20,000 easily, and will make more power. Oh almost forgot, lets go optimistic and say 2,000 for labor. Well that is what I refer to as being RAPED!!!!! The more I look into this the more I get angry. Ok, you buy the car for what it is and it's name and what not. So why would you have to pay extra on parts and labor (isn't that what the $42,890 was for). Not just a little bit, but a lot. How do you charge 1500 in labor for a rear-end. If I could get away with that I would have a new job, it's not that hard, and I did it on a pair of jack stands and a single jack all by my lonesome.

guess yenko was a joke too?
they took cars and modified them and sold them through dealers.
Yes, you can recreate the car for less money, do you have waranty on all parts like you do through them? No.
Yes its a large amount of money for a car, but hell look at what a true Yenko, or other variation of a dealer modified car is..... out of the ****** roof.
