Leather wrapped interior panels??
I was thinking about having all my interior panels wrapped in black leather. ( kick, sail, door, and rear hatch panels, maybe the center console lid dash and under steering wheel plate)
How do you think that would look? I'm just tired of the plastic look of everything, and paint is not an option for me.

I though about the raer sail panel peices ahving a bird stitched in them, blue and white just above the speakers.

I was thinking of this and I found this in my search. I love the idea....I just don't know how to get a flat piece of leather to conform to the odd curves???? Say...the sail panel. I was thinking a heat gun but i don't know if the leather can stretch to fit. I'm not an expert so I wouldn't know.

Yeah i practiced on a few panels at the shop. Prep the plastic and then soak it with #M adhesived, stretch the leather and leave near a heat light for an hour or two. I just haven't figured out how to cover the door panel with one peice yet.
When I do i won't have to look at that dam crack that I an so many others have.

Yea, but there's no substitute for real leather.

There is some really nice stuff out that is amost just as nice as leather and doesn't cost nearly as much. It's amazing how much more advanced the Pleather stuff is now. If you have the money I would do all leather myself. Wrapping the panels is pretty easy to do. Just make sure you use a glue that can hold up to the changes in weather, otherwise you will end up with air pockets and saggs in the cover. Just be patient with it. Also depending on the look you are going for if you wipe the leather with a wet cloth or steam it, the grain of the leather will come out. My father has some work for customers who wanted leather but wanted a smooth look so we pulled out all the grain from the leather.
