haha I decided to wash the Camaro a few weeks back by going to the spray-n-wash place with my soap and rag. Well, it's probably 1/2 mile drive from my house and by the time I got home (I didn't FULLY dry it.. that's hard to do when it's cold out there) there was ice on certain parts of my car lol. But it was shiny!

hey I'd rather drive around with a shiny car and a few drops of ice on the fenders than a dirty car.

I went thru the touch-free auto-wash for the first time with my SS this weekend because of horrible road salt. Everything was great going in etc...But during the blow-off cycle at the end the fan was blowing so much air it ripped my wiper blades off! As in the rubber inserts, they just kept tearing and tearing and I was trying to get the car out but the ice on the exit of the wash kept me from going anywhere in a hurry. I will never take my car to a auto-wash with a drying fan again. #1 rule always use touch-free car washes if you have to go to an auto-wash.

I would not do it if it were close to freezing.

I've done it as cold as mid 20's. What can I say, I am pretty absurd when it comes to keeping the car clean.

It helps if you fill your soap bucket with half hot water from your bathtub. Also you can wear a regular winter glove and get those big funky yellow plastic gloves that people wash dishes with to put over your regular gloves.

19 degrees outside right now, just got done rinsing my car off. I had to stop a few times to salt the driveway because the water was freezing as soon as it touched the ground and the car. Thank god I have a propane heater, it's about 55 degrees in the garage right now and in about 5 minutes I can go out there and dry off the now-melted water.

Laser Touchless Carwash

I just discovered about 2 weeks ago.. Nothing touches the Car and I don't have to get out... in any temperature... does the under carriage too... air blows it dry

I get a little water but just drips so I bring a towel.

Cold weather just makes it harder to dry and makes the wax take longer to dry and its harder to get off. I always wash the car, do a little spin around the block, rinse off any debris which usually ends up on the back bumper, then dry outside or in the garage. Sometimes I will use a leaf blower to get off 80% of the water if its cold outside. If its under 50, I will usually give the wax a couple hours to dry.

Hey it's ok man. One thing weve learned with camaros is they are notorious for leaking and if it's gonna happen it's just gonna happen. Right now I have to run mine through the car wash because we are on mandatory water restrictions. First fine is $500 and the next time they shut off your water. Car washes are exempt because they run off of well water. I say.
