I sprayed mine with Sikkens Autobase +. I wish I would of sanded it down first, but when I did mine there was still the issue of the intakes not fitting correctly and being warped. I didn't want to do all that work and then send it back.

Let's see if I can remember...it's been a while. I used my dremel and some 80 grit to remove the lettering from the FAST intake. Then I did most of the cutting with 180 grit to remove the texture cast into the intake. Next, I smoothed the surface with 220 grit, which sounds coarse, but actually leaves a nice smooth surface. My bodyman layed down several coats of sandable primer and finished the smoothing process.

I was going to paint mine when I put it on the other night but I said **** it and painted the FAST part black instead of that ugly pink and stuck it on. I think I want one of these guys to paint mine, those intakes on the 1st and 2nd pages look awesome!

Man they all look great. What grit sandpaper are you useing in what steps? What did you guys use to get in the cracks? I'd really like to do this but if i had it looking good I'd just scratch it during the install with my luck.

As for the cracks, etc...I just folded the paper into little pieces and hand sanded as far into the cracks, etc. as I could...or that you could see. I didn't waste alot of time on areas that aren't visible or that are shielded by the giant F-body cowl...
