Any one use Rain X?
It applies great for me and looks really good but seems to have 0 function, in fact it makes the wind sheild smear when I turn on the wipers. Am I doing something wrong?

Rain x works great! I the way you apply it is put it on a rag , cover like half your window, then wait till it hazes, then buff it off. just like waxing your car. I think the part where your coming into problems is the buffing part. that **** is hell to buff off, sometimes you have to get into the car and look closely thru the window to see where you missed, its hard to see. Do it right and the stuff is awesome, i dont even use my wipers unless its a heavy rain.

It is hard as hell to get off but its worth it. Water is just thrown off of my windshield when I turn on the wipers and beads off without them. A friend of mine used it as a replacement for his window wipers on his truck for a long time because he liked the way the truck looked without them.... hes kinda insane. But the stuff does work

Maybe I am not using enough, my windows are dark and cant see it haze over. How long does it take to haze? Also how long would you say this stuff lasts, 3 months right?

In my experience, I've had best luck with their "wipes".
I have tried both, it works great for me. I find the wipes easier though. Pull out a wipe, do one section of the car at a time. I do the front and rear windows in halfs at a time.
Wait like posted above, until a nice haze has developed. Get a clean microfiber towel, or paper towel, (which ever suits you) and buff it all off.
Believe it or not, I usually do it at dusk/night time. Turn the interior lights on in the car, and go around and wipe off whatever you've missed.
I don't even use my windshield wipers most the time. At about 70MPH, it's clear as hell. Love how it looks just sitting in the rain as well. Not only is the water running off the paint, but the windows as well.
EDIT:
I'm, unsure on how long it takes to haze. I usually apply a coat to a specific area. Move on to the rest of the car, and wipe that initial area off first; 15 or so minutes later.
I usually apply a coat every couple of weeks or so. A little on the excessive side, but it it's up to you.

Vetteman, I would only do one coat. It's plenty and last a pretty good while.
I actually detail cars as a side job and use rainx regularly. The trick to getting it off and evenly is letting it haze for about 5 minutes. Then take a light mist spray bottle filled with plain water. Lightly mist the window and wipe it all dry with a dry towel/cloth.
The reason for the streaking afterwards is usually because people use too much. A little goes a long way with rainx.

I like Rain-X and have had better luck with their wipes too.
I have also used "Aquapel" that does the same type thing as Rain-X, but it lasts a lot longer. However it doesn't seem to really repel quite as well as Rain-X.

i personally dont like rain x, i just wash my car every week and steel wool the windows with the window cleaner i use at work and it works fine without it
one of the new detailers used it a bunch, and got it on his window seals and got the seals to dry out and now they are starting to dry rot and im convinced its from that because his back window isnt doing it.
so, IMO, if you are going to use it, be careful around the window seals
