Actually that's not true. From a site I can't post since they're a non-sponsor, the Bosche housings are only $140 for a set. HID kits can easily be found for under $75 shipped on eBay. Just a FYI if you're wondering the quality of the eBay kits...They're EXCELLENT quality. I've bought 3 kits for myself, plus ordered 5+ sets for friends/family and not a single one had any issues. 2 of those kits I've had installed for over 2 years now

So basically you get ALOT better cutoff for exactly 1/2 the price if purchased the HID/housing kit for $450...

You mean these?

Odd, but they are H4, which is dual-filament. Also, they are $224.

Yikes... I was hoping they'd be closer to the $140 like stated above.. I guess you have to pay to play.. I'll have to think about it. Wonder if I should get the highs too???

What all would have to be done in order to get the fogs in HID also?

For that price, retrofit actual HID projectors (which use D2S bulbs). Its a lot more work, but the light output is much better.

I don't care to do the work, I just don't want to blind people and want something that will be easy to maintain and replace the bulbs etc.. I heard mixed things about projectors... Also want to keep the stock housing look..

Yeah, that pretty much looks like them.

They are still $70 each without bulbs. Just get the H4 HiD conversion bulb (single element) to replace your low beams. Keep your stock High beams as is.

There's nothing mixed about projectors. They are superior. What are your concerns?

Ditto that's all you'll need. Definitely don't want to blind people

I agree 100%. But if you MUST put them in halogen reflector housings, make sure to get a quality one with a good cutoff. At least it'll make it less blinding to other drivers.

WOW... this thread is almost 2 1/2 years old! I paid $234 back then and now you can get them for under $70. Plus there's 100x more people on the road with aftermarket kits too...

Default HID headlights trans am

Well if your looking on getting hid's for your hawk, or t/a, or just a firebird. I got mine from blinglights.com Mine was also an ebay auction and when they sent them i took them to a local body car stereo shop and they were damn these are going to be a lil bit of a pain in the ***. So it started aggravating me that it was going to be expensive when i allready had bought the hid for 289.00. Finally i found someone and i had to buy two new low beam headlights. very cheap and inexpensive at your local autozone or who ever you got, their like 12.00 for each one. Anyway the guy who put them on just cut the new ones from the back slowly but precise then slid the hid bulb and sealed it with a proxy. Dont ask for the name of the proxy but it sealed up, waterproof, etc, etc. It's a good deal night driving is way different and they are super bright. Fog lights coming in soon. And also their 6000k bulbs. Total front setup including new low beam headlight spent about 370.00. My foglights are costing 175. If you need pics ill post some up just pm me and ill be glad to do so. Thanks and goodluck with it.

I stepped up and got the Bosch housings as well with a set of HID's. The cutoff isn't bad, but not as good as my two Saab's with projectors in them.

HID kits for our cars is now about $75 shipped. Just get the H7 kit with Bosche housings and it'll be all good. It's about the same price you paid, but at least you have a cutoff... Cutting the bulbs off the AZ housings will create a ton of glare on the other drivers...

Projectors will NEVER compete with Bosche housings, but at least there's a little cutoff. We really have no choice if we want HIDs unless we retrofit projectors on ours
