so far ive gathered this, the cheapest and still effective route is this ebay fellow and the eurolight conversions. inbetween would be the kaixen and eurolight conversions. and the high road would be new projector housings made for HID's and the kaixen kit.
But, wouldnt a new projector housing require some sort of custom fabrication to fit in the stock headlight assembly? Or does it go inside the eurolight conversion lamp? I'm a little confused on the projectors.
And finally... how about a write up? lol A quick step by step, for us with little to no experience in car electronics. Because im not even too sure on how to install the eurolight conversions, nevermind the hids. (although i have a feeling the eurolights would be a bit trickier if the hid's are plug-n-play.)

The Eurolams houseings are easy to swap. It's one for one, you just take the front trim off and take afew bolts out and unplug.
Everyone keeps saying that Euro's kit is sealed but in fact it's open in the back to allow for bulbs of choice were as the stockers are truely sealed 'cause you can not change anything. right?
someone mentioned a wire upgrade for the Euro conversion to support 70w....What do you mean wire upgrade. I put, when they were in buiseness, the AutoOptiks conversion in my Bird back in 2000 W/70w bulbs and never once had any excessive amp or power draw down. I have bought the Euro' kit to replace the worn out Auto' kit and plan to pick up the HID/Xenon while i'm here in Japan.
The process of installing new lights is pretty straight forward, for me at least then again I am a AirCraft Maintainer.

I know this costs quite a bit more but I just found this conversion on ebay and on the web. The ebay link is headlight conversion ebay auction I think this idea is really cool.

I was running Eurolamp bulbs for 6 months and discovered one day that I was running 70w bulbs. I had no excessive draw from them, but upgraded the wiring just because. All the upgraded wiring consisted of is bigger wire and a 30amp relay.
Anyone got a good recommendation for some good quality/price projectors? I may venture into the unknown for T/As. I have an idea, but would like a recommendation for some projectors to go by.
As far as LT1 'birds, I VERY HIGHLY recommend buying Hella housings for your car. I had some in my '93 Formula. They're around $80 for a pair and the cutoff would rival that of a projector beam. Eurolamps don't come close to the Hella's. I just wish Hella made housings for LS1 'birds!

Talked to my Kaixen rep and he told me that the HID kit will be about 1cm longer total than your standard H4 Light kit (so on average you need at least 1cm between where your stock bulbs are and your headlight housing plastic). Only the H4 bulb comes with a built in cut off so if you want other sizes be prepared for them to not have a cutoff.
He will extend the rx7club group buy to include ls1tech though there are only 4 spots left in this group buy.
Group buy pricing he is offering is as follows
Low only w/ built in Cutoff (H4) $300USD or $350 Cdn + $14.95 Shipping
or
Hi/Low (one bulb with sliding cut off) (H4) $369USD + $14.95 Shipping
Choice of Temp/Color is as follows
4300K (Yellow as used on several Lexus OEM HID's)
5000K (Yellowish)
6000K (OEM HID Color, White)
6500K (purple)
8500k (blue)
The Lower the K rating the more light output you will have
Also according to an earlier poster T/A's do use H4. So these are the correct lights for your car (assuming you own a T/A, im checking on camaro's right now)
email sales@autodoodad.com and ask for the RX7Club GB pricing
Mods: Im not making any money off of this, im just referring people to someone that can get them a decent price on some good quality HID's, i dont think this violates the rules on "vendors" however if it does feel free to pm me or edit it

I still think I my HID kit is a very high quality plug & play kit, comes with plug & play wiring kit to upgrade your stock wiring (which I'd recommend for the extra current draw when the HIDs ignite).... Not to mention nearly $100 less shipped.
BTW:
ONLY LT1 'birds WITH aftermarket non-sealed beam housings can use H4 bulbs.
LS1 'birds WITH aftermarket non-sealed beam housings use H7 bulbs.
LS1 Camaro's use 9006 for low beam and 9005 for high beam.
I'm 100% positive that is the bulbs sizes for LT1 & LS1 'birds as I've owned both cars, plus upgraded the housings in both vehicles.

In case any of you are wanting a HID conversion kit with walkthrough for a Projector lense(circular case, not square), Skytower on ls2.com and ls1tech has a complete walkthrough that he did on his.
At least that was a few years ago, id suggest pming him. I think he said it was around 500 for everything including HID kit and projector's.
