Default Side Marker Lights?

Can anyone tell what I need to do in order to get the rear side marker lights black?

you cant paint them with some VHT Niteshade paint, i think that's the name of it, it a can where you spray on a transparent black on there. you can get them at orielly or at summit/jegs...which ever one you like the most. like 9 bucks or somthing like that.

VHT works well. Looks perfect at night and is just a slightly different shade during the day.

I used the stock red ones and applied about 7 coats. The red light is barely visible during the day but very visible at night. 1 or 2 more coats and it wouldn't be.

If you buy the clears, you'll have to also get some red bulbs or it'll still be non-street legal. If you don't care about street legal or don't care about letting others see when you're braking, just paint them gloss black with a clear coat.

Only "centered shot" I have of it is this...

I think I applied 3 or 4 coats. Looks great during the day, works like stock at night, light still perfectly visible.

Edit, I take that back... here's a closeup (the bodyshop painted the bolt red when they were blending the rear bumper with the ground effects, don't ask my why...)

Painted the screw silver. I think I'm going to change that though.

Here's mine: (Click for larger images)

Lights Off

Lights On

I don't remember how many coats I put on. I just kept painting until they looked black. At night with the lights on, none of my lights look blacked out. The reflectors in the side markers are still just as effective. If you take a picture of the lights with the flash on, you can't see the black at all.

What do the side markers lights have to do with letting people see when you're braking? Ive got clears with the stock white bulb in my sides markers and corners and havent had a problem. But then again the cops around here arent ****'s.
