Default C5 Steering Wheel on a 98-02 Camaro Steering Column?

Does anyone know whether I can put a c5 steering wheel on to a 98-02 camaro steering column?

I asked the same question a while back, and alot of people said it could be done, it would just require the machining of an adapter hub so it will fit. If you have a machine shop nearby, c5 wheel, and some free time, I would say go for it and see if it fits. I'm sure many of us would love if it worked.

So you were told that it is not a direct fit?

I do not have a C5 steering wheel yet, and I'm hesitant to buy one before I know how much work and money is involved.

If anyone has tried this, with either success or failure, please let me know.

Thanks

alot of airbag issues would occur, also, like he said the machining is a bitch, but from what i heard it is worth it, kinda like the 94-98 exterior t/a conversion is time consuming, but hella worth it!

The air bag isn't going to be hooked up. The steering column and steering wheel are going into a 68 camaro.

The machining, I assume, is someting that only can be done by a machine shop? nothing I can do?

In that old post people only assume that it won't fit and that a hub would have to be used. Has anyone actually tried to put a C5 steering wheel on a Camaro steering wheel?
