I will be doing a rear seat delete when it warms back up again. I will most likely build them to order also if anyone shows interest.

To me its more about making use of the back seat space rather than saving weight. If you were truely concerned about saving weight you'd just rip the seats out and leave it

No, unfortunately I don't have a write up. I really just winged it. I saw keliente's version a while back and thought it was a great idea, so I figured I would give it a shot. I built it in pieces and form fit it every step of the way. I honestly eyeballed it, made some rough cuts, and adjusted certain areas with a jigsaw and a dremel (they will become your best friend). It took me one weekend to complete. I'm sure I could have finished it one afternoon, but after a few beers I'm not as productive as I would like....

i would be interested if someone on the board sold them. it doesn't look hard, i just don't have the tools / time / space to do it.

Mark/BlueGTO out in California has been making these things for the last couple years.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he is the one that makes them for Speed Specialty.
You can see his website here, ...
http://www.fasterbaby.com/fbodydeletes.htm

Contact him, he'll set ya right up! And they're relatively inexpensive. Considering it'll save you a ton a work & all ya have to do is pull the seats & set these back in place & yer ready to go!

Here's mine.

You should highly consider making your own, because $100 or whatever they charge is a lot of money for some plywood and screws.

I made mine in an afternoon...it's 1/2" plywood and automotive carpet. It is VERY sturdy. I have had two wheels & tires sitting on it just fine, and often throw groceries/etc back there as well. I am the person that suggested taking a piece of foam insulation to cut out a template.

Very easy, pick up a can of carpet/fabric dye from AutoZone/Advance. Spray the carpet until you reach the desired color. Then use a glove and brush the pile back and forth so you get all sides of it.

No but it would be really easy, all you would have to do is cut a square out of the top and put a hinge on it. I just chose not to do that because I wanted it to look like it could have almost come with the car stock.
