it looks better with bare carpet. plus adding the weight back in is pretty self defeating.

made my own just depends on what you like and how much money you have...

and yes you are putting weight back in the car but if you take everything out including seatbelts its about a 45lbs to lets say 8-10lbs difference just depends on your preference

i used speaker box carpet...it mold easily over edges ... and i used a hot glue gun the adhesive spray didnt work so well...just picked up the carpet from a local stereo shop...most of the auto stores have the carpet dye or at least around here they do...but i left mint the gray and black combo that comes in the carpet doesnt look bad either

If you know they are not a sponsor why do you insist on posting a link. You should of just PMed him. Anyways, I say make sure own. Someone said they used sheets of foam from the local hardware store to make a template then transfered it onto wood. Thats the way Im doing it as soon as I get some time.

It doesnt matter if they are a sponsor or not since none of the other sponsors make that product. As someone else so eloquently put it "Leave the moderation to the moderators!"

I couldn't tell you the exact weight, but its probably about the same as the seats/seatbelts weighed (if not less). I used 1/4 inch plywood to help keep the weight down. Ultimately, it didn't really matter to me how much it weighed. I did it more for appearance and functionality.

Y'all should try the search function, this topic comes up at least once a week.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/430020-who-makes-rear-seat-delete-kits.html

Here's mine.

You should highly consider making your own, because $100 or whatever they charge is a lot of money for some plywood and screws.

I made mine in an afternoon...it's 1/2" plywood and automotive carpet. It is VERY sturdy. I have had two wheels & tires sitting on it just fine, and often throw groceries/etc back there as well. I am the person that suggested taking a piece of foam insulation to cut out a template.

I dyed it that color, it was originally light gray like the other guy's carpet.
