Agree with Oil Temp, Coolant Temp, and Transmission Temp.
However our stock tachs suck...I would also get a Tach and if you are using N2O, bottle & fuel pressures. If FI, boost PSI and fuel pressure. That's a lot of gauges though

As mentioned, depends on your set-up...
Any F-body 99+: Water temp gauge is nice to have
Forced induction: Boost, Fuel Pressure, and WIDEBAND A/F gauge
A4 Tranny: Transmission temp gauge
Road Racing/LOTS of hot city driving: Oil temp gauge
Nitrous: Nitrous pressure and nitrous temp gauges
Towing: Exhaust gas temp gauge, tranny temp gauge
The A/F gauges from Autometer are pretty much useless because they are not wideband, meaning they give you stupid blinking lights insted of numbers. I had one, and it was fun to watch is bounce back and force like a retard, but other than that, it was a waste of money. The voltmeters and oil pressure gauges are also useless, you them on your dash, use them. I suppose you might want an oil pressure gauge for accuracy, but the stock one is decent.

Let me see if I can remember what my buddy is putting in his 91 RS TT project car:
oil pressure
volt meter
trans temp.
water temp (driver side head)
water temp (pass. side head)
fuel pressure
air inlet temp
boost
air/fuel wideband
pyrometer (drivers side)
pyrometer (pass. side)
oil temp.
clock
Seems like there was one more

I would say fuel psi, a/f ratio (wideband), and tranny temp. Anything the computer doesnt read or isnt accurate. I think the stock coolant gauge and the oil psi gauge are ok.

Depends on what you're gonna do to your car.
A/F is ALWAYS nice to have, but only if it's wideband...a narrowband is just going to be some pretty LEDs to look at.
Water temp is useful, since your stock gauge is a dummy gauge (unless you are a 98). It'd be helpful in the staging lanes at the track and such.
Fuel pressure would be important if you were running some kind of forced induction...
I wouldn't do oil pressure, because the stock gauge is accurate.
Voltmeter is kind of unnecessary too imo.

OIL TEMP, TRANS TEMP and A/F here. Like was said before the Autometer A/F Is cool for a light show. I only put it there cause I had it lying around from another car.
