My new under the hood candy:
I created this on my 3D printer at work, out of ABS plastic, (as a training piece of course) what is it you ask? Once I do the wire mod, this piece will cover the PCM and tuck a few more of the wires. What do you all think? The piece will be painted black to match the car, and the letters will be silver. I'll get some actual pictures once it's installed.

I like the idea of covering the PCM but... what does the computer have to do with WS6? Isn't WS6 mostly a suspension designation?
Maybe consider doing it without any text on it at all. Sometimes the engine compartment can get too full of "stuff". IMO, it would be better to make the PCM disappear rather than bring attention to it. You know the old saying... "Less is more."

Very true Mark, however, I have very little done under the hood appearance wise, and most people will know what's under it anyways. WS6 has nothing to do with bumpers, airbox lids, fuel rail covers or the vairous other places that people put those badges. I think it will blend in really well when it's all done. I should have it sanded, painted and installed this weekend. Then all I have to do is tuck those ugly *** wires out of the way.

You wouldn't by chance "accidentally" make few more training pieces would you? Then maybe one of those training pieces might "accidentally" end up on my WS6 and maybe a few $ in your pocket?
Just a thought...haha

Maybe, I was talking to a friend of mine about it, I could probably print a few more, and if there was enough response to it, buy my own cartridge, and print as many as I wanted. A catridge is 240.00, so I'd have to sell a few at a reasonable price to make any kind of proffit at all. Lawman, I'm with you, I think it'll be very subtle when it's all said and done. My car is black, it'll be black, and most likely blend in pretty well. Now if I was painting it red and drawing attention to it, that would be something different.

So I take it you used a Rapid Prototyping machine (stereolithography) to create this? Is yours a light activated resin system? I'm not familiar with the 'cartidge' style you speak of. What software did you use for the 3D design?
Just curious as I am a Mechanical Design Engineer - used to rapid prototype in last job - no real call for it in present job, but I wish I had the equip. available now for a couple ideas I have
Nice piece btw, as long as the raised areas are a less vibrant color like the silver you have pictured it should look fine - too bright of a color would make it stand out too much in an area of the engine bay that really doesn't need any attention drawn to it.

1QUIKWS6, yeah we have a Dimension 3D printer (Rapid Prototype machine) STL machines use a different medium. Ours actually uses a 12"x2"x8" cartridge with ABS wire spooled inside it. I used Solidworks to design the piece and catalyst to slice the .stl file. It does a great job. If you have some idea's shoot them my way, we'll work something out. The decals on my car are a dull gray, pewter look I'm thinking something along those lines. Great name BTW, mine is QWKWS6 on other boards.

Some final pictures, I think I'm going to have to pull the PCM out and set it in there as one piece, or pull the plastic off the firewall to get it to set on there perfect. Also, I think doing the wiremod will really help this out a LOT.
