Trade SS for Z06?

Trade SS for Z06?
I have a 02 SOM SS and I'm considering trading it for an 03 Yellow Z06. I've always wanted a vette but should I trade for it or should I just keep the SS for a couple more years and wait till the new body style Z06's are cheaper? I'm just worried that if I wait to long my SS won't be worth anything on a trade. Its got almost 24,000 miles on it now.

Dude i would definatley wait untill the new body style gets cheaper...which isnt gonna be for quite awhile. plus 24,000 miles is pretty damn good anyway. mine has 50,000 on it and i dont think thats all that bad either. I will have a new Z06 one day!!! Just my opinion.

Why the hell is this in appearance forum?
You could probably get what, just under 20k for the SS? Is a 03 Z06 worth the 10-17 thousand dollar price difference? If the answer is yes, then do it!

You should have a leg up in selling yours. Several in fact. Low mileage and color. If you can get a good price for your SS you may not have to go belly up too far for the z06. It just becomes a matter of finding one you like for a damn good price. I would do it...but only if those requirements are met.

24k miles is nothing. rack up the miles, beat the crap out of it, then sell it.

What about selling outright instead of trading? That way you can get a bit more to put towards the Z06. Then again, if you have the money to get one in the first place, maybe 1000 or so isnt a big deal.
I dont know if I could get rid of my Z for a Z06, unless it was a c6. Id much rather save for a few years and get one and keep my Camaro.

Well it would it appear that it took me to long to decide. I went back to the dealer today and somebody else already bought it. It was a trade in at a BMW dealership here in town. I'm thinking about keeping the SS and putting it away in storage and building it back up. Maybe 20 years down the road it will be worth something nice. Its a 02 SS with 24K miles and Flowmaster cat-back with 275/40/ZR17 Goodyear eagle F-1 DSW's I believe. Brembo Blank rotors and all new brake assembly parts( sliding pins, pads, etc...), Street Comp Fuel pump and lines, GM performance Alluminum Drive shaft, 3.73 Gears from Motive Gears, etc... I bought it stock this summer for $21,000. Do you think I could get $19,000 for it with those aftermarket parts? I did have a 427 big block from GM performance (I use to work for GM now I work for CAT), with a steel roller cam, and all ram jet fuel injection top end etc...I had it in the car for 2 months then removed it for the winter. Decided it was to expensive to put back in this coming spring so I sold it to a buddy of mine with a z28( I'll get pics from him after install is complete). The SS is currently my only vehicle due to the fact the lady friend drives the grand prix to work.
So If I'm keeping the SS what would you recommend for a cheap spare vehicle fix?
