Default Any auto painters here?

Hey I wanna try out some painting on some junkyard fenders and hoods, stuff like that. Just see if I can get the hang of it and stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what gun or stuff to get to start out? What should I look for and what should I stay away from.

For a rookie, the better the gun the better the paint job. I use a SATA NR2000 HVLP gun. Best gun on the market in my opinion. But it has a hefty price of over $500. Just take your time and prep the panels really well!!!

Yeah Heard a good gun is the way to go but I don't want to go to crazy for now because I wanna just see what happens, kind of see if i like it. I know all the work is comes down to the prep work.

Is there a place online to get the paints and stuff? Also isn't there something you have to add to the paint? If so what is it and how much do you have to add?

Be nice if you could find someplace to rent one or borrow one from a buddy if you're just looking to try it out. Keeps you from investing a few hundred bucks in something you may not end up liking...plus if you do end up liking it you know to get the top-end stuff now

I'll rent you my DeVilbiss gun. Great gun I only used it once.

PM me if you are interested.
