there is someone else having the same thing as me. they're not on all the way, just a very dim glow as he stated in his thread. i think they look good, just worries me that they didn't go all the way off?

thanks,

mine takes 3 total bulbs of what you used for your dome light. none of what you used for your map lights. hope that makes sense.

1 in each side of map light, and 1 for dome.

turn your dome light on and back off and see if they go all the way out, or glow just a little, just out of curiousity.
i'll go back out and see if mine are still glowing.

went back and checked......still glowing, just barely like before, but still on.

anyone else have any ideas or the same deal with thiers?

I could be wrong, but isn't there a capacitor that leaves the interior lights on for a but after you exit the car? And then it drains and the lights turn off. If that is the case, your LED's could not be drawing enough to drain the capacitor to actually shut them off. I don't think it is drawing from the battery at all if that is the case. Can anyone remember? I am going off memory here and have not had a chance to properly search it. But it would make sense to me if that were the case and explain what you guys are seeing.

I actually think it depends on the brand/color of LEDs you use. I put some UV LEDs in my lights, and they'd all go out completely. I late put some green LEDs on my Mom's lights, but a couple of them remained on just a bit. I switched them out with a different brand of green LEDs, and they all went out.

And for those with neg. comments on my momma's dollie thingies...step off!!!

Welp, just got my stuff in the mail. I seriously coulda used these in that dark parking lot last night!
We'll see how this works out for me and my '02. I'll post pics if all goes well. I had to opt for the 360° bulb for in the dome though...

Thanks YellowTA1 for the help!

You should post pics when your done. I wanna see how the 360 in the dome looks.

Also if anyone had a pic of the glove light with an led I would like to see it. Anyone done the courtesy lights either? I was thinking about doing an entire interior red led switch to match my gauge cluster and wasn't sure which other bulbs I would need. Thanks

Well, if you're gonna go with red, and you want a lot of light, you're gonna have to go with more than just the 2 bulbs in the rear view mirror and the 1 in the rear dome light. Otherwise the interior is gonna be a lot more on the darker side. It's true that when I chose to go with UV LEDs, it wasn't going to light up much, I installed a ton of LEDs inside to compensate. As you can see in the previous pic, just a few LED strips in my mom's car lights up the interior nicely.

I just installed my LED's from superbrightleds yesterday. I got the two map lights, glove box light, and the rear dome light. It's a HUGE difference over the stock interior lights.

I think next I will upgrade the 4 exterior side markers, and the 2 DRL's.

they stay on because of the residual power left when the cars off (think alarm reciever, door locks, etc).

different LEDs light at different power, so my map lights stay on REALLY dimly all the time. not enough to kill the battery if i left it for a month i bet.

some nice lighting setups in here (all dollies aside)

ill have to contribute here shortly
