Default My WS6 Project

Teardown and new rear plus suspension pics pg.1
Hid install pg.2

Ok so the story goes, a friend of mine owned this car for a while now and last year the 10 bolt gave out him and he lacked the money to fix it so it sat until about 3 weeks ago. Ive always had my eye on it and would always ask him to sell it to me but he was determined to hold onto it, but it came down to the point where is was in default on his loan and on the verge of getting legal action taken on him so that where I come in.

The car is a 99 WS6 as you can see and though he took great care of it it had been through some hard times at the end and he didnt have the bank situation to make it right so the car just sat in his driveway. The car was in perfect shape until a series of events led to its dimise.

The damage the car sustained is from him sliding into a median on I-95 in a rain storm, then on the way home the 10 bolt took a **** as you can see. He took it apart in hopes of getting it back on the road but ran out of money and the car project came to a halt. He called me one day and asked if I wanted the car it was mine.

To start off I had to get the car back to my house which is 2 miles from his, after a little bit of thinking I decided that I was gonna just drive it home. Keep in mine the Diff is cracked in HALF, the pinion is grinding into the assembly, it has no cover therefore no fluid, no sway bar, it has been out of inspection since 12/04 and it has no tag....

SO, I get my friend to jump behind me and I go for it.... at max speed I reached 6mph I didnt dare go any faster, and low and behold I made it home.

Time to get to work!

Bye Bye 10 Bolt!!

I went in search of a new setup, after research and talking to a member on here I got this... THANKS MIKE!!! (aka My1st Truck)

Moser 12 bolt, 3:73s, 30 spline axles, 1350 pinion. Top gun Moly driveshaft, Spohn rear sway bar and Spohn torque arm.

As my rear was being shipped I ordered UMI Lower control arms, Panhard bar, 3 point subframe connectors, Spohn 32mm front sway bar. After putting the parts in I didnt like the Spohn torque arm so I got the UMI one

I also picked up and put on SLP loudmouth while I was at it

This is what its suppose to look like back there

I got a little happy that the parts where here so I put it together without taking pics, Ill get better ones in the daylight.

Picked up some new rubber

Front comes off tommorrow for paint ill post up pics of the progress as it comes. Im installing the SLP line lock tommorrow aswell....

12,000K HIDs for the fogs (the fluidyne is for my lightning not the trans am)

Line lock like whoa

3/24

Front is dropped off for body work and paint should be done mid next week.

Damn, you went parts crazy with the thing. Wish I had that kind of coin to spend at one time. The car looks awesome, cant wait to see the finished product. Keep us posted.

Those wheels look kinda like the '02 CETA wheels, they just need the lip polished. I like seeing people "ressurect"(sp) cars like this. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for saving the WS6 and making it nice again. It seems like these cars are all getting totalled.

I like the whole thing except for the black rims. Fuggin' nasty looking. Strip the paint and polish those babies up.

Nice project, are you going to keep the car black or are you going with a different color?

The front removal was more of a pain then I expected, everything went off to the body shop for paint and should be done next week. Im sticking to the black on black I think it looks badass. Tommorrow it gets the Spohn 32mm front sway bar, Line lock and SLP fan control. Im waiting on my new fogs so the HIDs might not get done until next week but well see.

As soon as its back together im going to do a mod session on the L while the next set of parts are in the mail so stay tuned.

Repaint the wheels to stock! Or least polish the lips (Or whatever the term is). I would mistake them for spares from a distance.

If I change the wheels at all they will still be black but with a polished lip. I might do black ZR1s or the gunmetal Z06s but I dont know yet.

Front end should be back this week, I installed the line lock but couldnt get it to stop sucking air into the lines so I took the solenoid off to tighten it and it popped apart and I got pissed and threw it into the woods , I ordered a new solenoid and ill have another go at it when it gets here.

Fogs should be here wed, im bored so im going to setup the HIDs tommorrow just keep the bulbs off the car until the fogs arrive. Im putting in the new tranny mount tommorrow aswell since mine is ripped in half :o

And im pretty much out of ish to do to this puppy until the front arrives

oh yea I kinda went ahead and got a set of heads and a cam (so much for waiting )

If anyone has a setup of long tubes with egr **** and Y-pipe with cats let me know.

3/28

I didnt like the open switch SLP sent me so I used one of my old nitrous ones with a flip cover, afterall hitting the switch by accident at 60 might be bad.

I put in right in finger flick position still holding onto the shifter.

Here is the new Spohn 32MM sway bar and its hardware, its gonna rain today so ill save that for some other day this week.

I got the HIDs all mounted up and wiring where I want it, I mounted the ballasts nice and tucked away but still easy enough to get at.

With the cover piece back on

My camera isnt the greatest but you get the idea, they are 12000K so they are gonna be a purple color.

Im ordering the sealed bam conversion from eurolamp this week and ill stick 6000K in the lows and 8000K in the highs, looking at the front of my car with all 3 sets on will probably send someone into shock .

Some shots of the finished rear and subframe connectors.
