Blackbird Stripes: Colors
Blackbird Stripes: Colors I know there have been dozens of these threads lately but I haven't found what i'm looking for.
I want to see the difference between Silver Metallic and Pewter Metallic. Charcoal Metallic would be cool to see too although I don't think I'd put it on my black car.
Also pinstripe / checkered / solid pics would be great, doesn't matter what it is.
Also what is the actual color that came on the Black Blackbirds?

I seriously considered the checkered, but I could not find any good pictures of them. I went with the pinstripe, eventhough the pinstripes look a little to Old school for me. I didnt get anything cuto out, cause Im gonna put black Ram Air stickers over the Pewter.

If anyone can help point out which color is which it would be a great help...no i'm not colorblind, it's just that the 4thCircle site does not help you decide at all with next to no pics.
And is it just me or do those stripes darken as it goes back, or is it just the angle and it's really solid?

The stripes are the same color all the way back, if you want a fade, you'd probably have to get them painted

If pewter matches the pewter factory f-body color, i don't think it would look as good. The factory pewter color is slightly brownish. I think a purely neutral color would look better on black. Silver, charcoal, gray, etc. The question is just how light or dark you want i guess.

Mine are Silver also with Red 'Ram Air' & HP/TQ Ratings at the rear of the stripe. Mine were painted on when the hood was done and cleared over top. They may look white from far away with sun reflection on them, but once you get closer, and in person, you can definitely tell they are Silver.

Like I stated - my stripes were painted on when the hood was painted and then cleared over all so there is no perceptible edge on the stripes.
I did have actual vinyl stripes in the very beginning, but they were not purchased from anyone connected with the forum - I had the guy that does my decals make them from dimensions I gave him. Just standard BB stripe design as far as I know - wide center stripe with (2) outer thinner stripes, no fade.
