1 more pic this shows the rockers, again it's very dirty. I'm afraid to get anything in there because of rust

Not as bad as I thought it was, or maybe the pics aren't good.

Ok so this is all about the stock body kits...what about removing an aftermarket kit? I like the Xenon kit, but the front lip needs replaced and painted, so that'll be probably 3-400 bucks total. Or I can just remove everything and go back to the stock look. The kit looks like it has some sort of glue holding it on, I don't think it's nailed or riveted or anything like that.

is there anyway you could get a strip of sheet metal or something thin like that and put on the back of those holes, and then fill the holes with bondo, and just have the body shop do the painting, that would probably drastically reduce the cost? i would say buying an aftermarket kit and having them painted and all that would probably cost just as much, just a guess though? correct me if i'm wrong.

Usually aftermarket gfx pieces are held on using 3m adhesive or 3m double sided tape on the front. Unless you have fade underneath, it shouldn't be a big deal like the stock gfx's are to remove. Just be careful not to break any of it and go slowly so you can resell the good pieces.

Do you drive your car in the rain alot? I took my body kit off 2 years ago and just bondo'd over the holes and used touch-up paint. It looks 'ok', but its holding up just fine.

Well this is going to be my daily driver pretty much starting now, so I want to get it done right and also it will kill me to have those there even if im the only one who notices. And yeah a stock z28 with a stock bodykit is not "badass", to tell you the truth I felt a little ricey with it!

Then buy rims. I said that because you said your car was red. This car is red:

and I think it looks bad ***. Definetly more badass than bondo and touch-up paint

How is a stock car with stock pieces "ricey"???

What I meant was my car because the bodykit didn't match the paint . Yes that car looks amazing but believe me, my car looked nothing like it. Rims are something I'll be looking for later but with the money tight I would rather go faster

Been looking for pics of what it leaves behind when the gfx are taken off. I've been debating this as well for a long long time. I can't say it'd be worth it from seeing the pics though. Be sure and let us know what you get quoted and how it turns out.

1100 bucks to fix rockers, fenders and both bumpers. The car goes in monday so I'll let you know how it turns out (I hope for 1100 dollars it will be damn hard to see a difference from stock), will be in for 3-4 days . The weather is just starting to get into the 60s here in MN and it'll be in the shop!

EDIT: DO NOT take the stock kit off dude, especially if there's nothing wrong with it. You will regret it big time!

You could still just have yours painted and put back on for a LOT cheaper...

The paint is a large amount of the cost because of the huge amount of blending that will be done.
