Well Damon not to much can be done to help the ugly front end of the Camaro My vote goes to the original mecham hood. Simple and effective

I checked out your pics in your CarDomain. That hood is awesome. I love the side, front, and back shots of the hood. Thumbs up for having a hood that not everybody has, that looks good, and be fully functional at the same time.

SS followed by the Sunoco...easily the best aftermarket hood. Not over the top but still very loud.

i like the cowl hood since the ultra z has no breathers in the back side of the hood.
what about the suncoast z hood?

Sorry, gotta post it. I'm biased. This is night I put my halo's in. Car's a pig. And yes, I know about the blue lights. I put Silverstars in the highs now. Another pic before halo's underneath.

That Ultra Z hood ain't bad. I like the wider and flatter scoop making it even more subtle than either of the Mecham hoods.

It looks like the SS-hood is winning. And maybe it is the way to go. If it is, then the factory SS hood ain't the way to go. Check out the underside of RKsport's SS hood:

It's functional, probably lighter (since it's made out of fiberglass), and costs only $535. Now, I can't picture a Z28 with a factory SS hood, but I can picture a Z28 with a functional and lighter, aftermarket SS hood.

My Ultra Z is the same way. Functional, fiberglass (although it doesn't save hardly any weight). The inlet looks like this hood. They do cost more. My father-in-law used to be a powertrain enginer at SLP, so I got some REALLY nice deals.

does the ultra z hood have bends in the ducts like the ss hood? or is it a straight opening right to the airbox?

I think each hood looks good on certain colors. I would say that the ss hood is the best because it looks good and agressive on any color.

Ultra Z, Sunoco, and cowls: only if I had black, silver, white, or similar colors.

SS on any color.

Mecham only the two port.

Any other hood probably looks gay. Just my honest opinion.
