Damn! That looks good! I think that clinched it for me. That's gotta be the best looking LS1 Camaro EVER! Awesome Ultra Z hood, billet grille, halos, and the tasteful FM-10's. What size are your rims?

IT'S NOT FUNCTIONAL!!!!!!!

The most functional thing it does is pour water on the MAF.

I'm not yelling at you I'm yelling at the hood btw so please don't take offense.

The holes are tiny and it hasn't changed my coolant temp at all compared to the factory Z28 hood.

The thing I really don't like about the hood is that the each port has a ledge that holds water and filth.

The Mecham hood in person looks like they put extractors on the SLP Ultra Z hood. It is ALMOST just as flat and wide as the Ultra Z hood, I assume they used that as the base when they stole, oops... made it.

(edit) oh yeah, the intake doesn't work like the Ultra Z hood though, at all, the inside it just a rough fiberglass hollow opening with nothing smooth or areodynamic about the flow. Also the openings are random and not placed over anything special, unless you want to cool the throttlebody.

I know it's off subject but does anyone know who made this hood for this concept ZL1?

I think that was a one off. There are "look-a-likes" out there but no one got it down just right. If they had, I'd own one. Best looking Camaro hood, ever.

Who cares about the hood I love the fenders, they certainly are a lot nicer than having to go out and roll the factory. Plus I don't have to buy rear spring replacements to put WIDE tires on.

The Dick Harell fenders look a lot better than the ZlL1 fenders.

You could probably send the pic to VFN Fiberglass and have them make you a custom fiberglass or carbon fiber ZL1 hood. They also have pictures of their king crab SS hoods, but they don't look as good as the ZL1 hood.

Go with the 4" straight cowl!!!! Its by far the best looking hood for a 4th gen camaro. You dont see a lot of people witht ehm and you just get stares all the time. But whatever you decide to go with it will look good.
